For the very first time, our paths crossed. The actions we made lead us to one another. Don’t ever forget, that I will always be here calling out, and when our reasons become the same. That is the symbol of our promise.
Looking back now, on the things we have done. Our karma is the only thing that is certain. And even with these blood-stained hands, we will make it through this.
I am here in front of you, though you might not feel it. In this sunlight that rains down upon us, we are there together.
Don’t you ever forget; I will always be calling out. Within a shard of glass, similar to yours, it is certain that we will meet again someday. As we look back on the actions we have made, our promises have been made. We are one.
I stopped the song in my phone and looked at Totsuka who was looking at me madly. Geez, he’s been so melodramatic since we came home. I pressed ‘Play’ and walked away from him. If you might be wondering, the song is called Karma by Bump of Chicken. It’s famous for being the soundtrack of the PS2 game Tales of the Abyss.
“Alright, ground me for a month, there, I’m done”
“No, you’re grounded for two whole months now, so we need to give you a more punishing punishment”
“Correction: it’s only one and three quarters now. And I feel like I’m not grounded at all”
He looked at me before the anger on his face disappeared.
“Fine, then no guns, no stunts and no going out the pub without me knowing, there you have it”
“I didn’t say that kind of punishment, that’s torture now”
“You can do it, just climb down the stairs instead of actually jumping down like an assassin”
I gave him a death glare and looked away from him. He must’ve forgotten about it. I just stayed here eight days ago. My phone suddenly vibrated in my pocket showing a new message from Yusuke. What does he want right now? I am not in the mood to talk to a white haired boy right now. I read through the message, and I was soon in shock:
Can you meet me at the park later? I went home early because they told me to. Hope to see you there
Not again. What am I gonna say? I can’t say no. He might hate me. Darn it! Fine, I have no choice now.
I can’t. I’m grounded for two months. Maybe you could come over at Homra pub, that’s the only place I’m aloud in
Totsuka looked at me and pulled the phone from my hand before reading Yusuke’s text out loud. He gave me a glare and tossed me the phone making it land on my lap.
“Yeah right, sure you’re aloud to see him in the park. But come back after thirty minutes”
I texted Yusuke again saying:
I’ll meet you in ten minutes
I took some clothes in my bag and went in the restroom before changing into my red, tight fitting sweater, my black skinny jeans and my knee height boots. When I got out the restroom, I tied my hair in a ponytail and put my phone and my guns in my bag. I went out the pub and suddenly bumped into Yusuke. He just looked at me in shock.
“You know the bartender here?”
“Yeah, he’s my friend. So, what did you want to ask me?”
He grabbed my arm and ran somewhere that may be far from Homra pub. My hair was being blown on my back until the rubber band that was holding my hair suddenly broke. We stopped at a spot that was really familiar to me. We were at the beach where I met Asami. I wiped the tear that was falling down my face. He let goes of my hand and soon looked down his hair covering his eyes.
