"Hey" I sigh stopping right in front of Lev whose champagne glass looks more and more appealing.
"Spending rather a lot of time on fluffy hair there huh?" she smiles teasingly, eyeing the prick down who I know for a fact is still watching me.
"Oh yeah totally, we were actually just agreeing on how slow he is at attempting to fucking drug me"
Her smile get's practically slapped away and I nearly laugh.
"Fluffy hair is a drugger, got it" her eyebrows rise tiredly.
I take her drink from her hands downing it all in one swift chug, her cold stare never leaves as I swallow every drop.
"You can't even begin to be mad, I just nearly got kidnapped at the party you dragged me to"
"Fine but you owe me a drink" she rolls her brown eyes taking the empty glass back.
"Yeah yeah whatever why'd you call me over?"
"Oh right so get this, that guy in all white has been non stop talking about this new player in town and how apparently they've already sold 30x more than the local dealers in town, to add on he said he's looking to make a deal tomorrow at midnight"
"Yeah I've heard there's someone new but how does this link anything to my dead mother"
"She's not dead and this links up because the seller, whoever it is, must have a supplier and that supplier must be someone big"
"Still waiting for the actual link"
"That supplier is said to be an older women with white hair and a very specific accent that comes with it"
I don't know if I feel anything at the moment, my moms dead, I know that for a fact, but then why is my body reacting to this like there's an actual possibility she's alive.
"I'm gonna go on a limb here and say you're going to take this very stupid lead and check it out anyways" I look over to the guy in the white suit and see nothing but a dumb twat, his belly is rounder than 50 footballs tied together, his cigar that's in his mouth is about to fall off from how hard he's biting into it which- now wait a second. He's nervous, now why would a man like him be nervous?
"Not only that but you, my best friend are coming with me"
"Levi there's no way I'm coming with you to a pointless lead"
"Admit it, you're scared"
My eyes are still on the man in all white, somethings wrong "scared of what?" I still manage to reply.
"Of the truth, of the possibilities she's alive"
This time I do look away and at Levi who's now slightly regretting her words.
"She's dead, I don't know how many times I have to say it but here it is again, I watched her drown in front of my eyes, not even an arms reach away, she's dead"
"Mia-"
"I'll go to your pointless lead but not because I think there's a possibility but because after this you're done, I'm done and when it's done I don't want to hear her being mentioned ever again got it?"
"Got it" she say's fast.
"Now go mingle, somethings up"
"What's wrong?"
"I don't know but there's something, meet back at the toilets in 20"
"Yeah of course just be safe"
"You too"
