After we made it to mike's we got changed into something a lot more comfortable, got some weapons and even had some spare time to kill so that was mostly spent talking about random things. I won't say I haven't missed socialising, I feel like the only person I talk to the most these days is either myself or Levi, having another human being say something without me being able to guess is kind of a relief.

"You haven't called in a while you know"

"Yeah well that's a good thing, it means I haven't been sloppy" I smile lightly, although it doesn't quite reach my eyes.

Mike wipes a fake tear from his cheek "it's like seeing your baby finally start walking"

I chuckle leaning my head against the padded chair "how's business going anyways"

"Oh it's been good kiddo, I've hired more bodies to help with the clean ups so now the job is in the detail more than anything else" he clears his throat wiping his mouth in thought "we had a close call a couple of months ago actually"

"Oh?"

"Getting rid of the bodies is child's play, the evidence that trails behind is endless however and you need a crew that knows what the fuck they're doing you know?"

I nod along the way as he grows pissed by the second.

"I pay THEM to get shit done but instead I'm left to hire more people, waste more money for some little cunt to break into the evidence room to fucking swap shit that should've been erased from the start"

"What'd they miss?" I chuckle just slightly.

He rolls his eyes sighing "you'd think that when a guy gets hacked to literally bits it would make you think that maybe blood would, oh I don't know..... go everywhere?, but they missed that and didn't change the smoke alarm"

"Ahhhh" I cringe but he just shakes his head even more, it's true though, the amount of people that completely forget that blood doesn't just touch surfaces scare me. Blood is liquid, it gets into places you wouldn't think twice about so it's better to be safe and check everything than be an idiot and get caught.

"But you know you can call me whenever right?" He smiles and I groan "even if there isn't a dead body that needs hiding"

"Mike honey I don't know if you've been watching the news lately but my face is on there every single morning, so until that stops I don't think you can even get a text"

"Then can you at least text to let me know your still alive once in a while"

"Oh that's never gonna happen" Levi comes out chuckling as she ties her belt around her waist.

"Ha ha" I mutter dryly.

"She aint kidding kid, you need to start mingling" he puts a spoonful of chocolate ice cream into his mouth nodding at me.

"For the last time, I'm wanted, I can't and don't mingle"

"Yeah well I do" Lev winks at me.

"You guys are so annoying oh my God"

"Okay fine, let's talk about Bane the ass" Mike says staring of to space but at the same stabbing his box of ice cream, although the longer I look at him the more I begin to understand that the box of ice cream is evidently Bane.

"More like the actual definition of a piece of shit" Lev chimes in sliding deeper into the couch she's sat in.

"Dick head, rat, dog, shit face, cunt, prick, waste of space whatever his name is why is he interested in the new guy anyway"

"Better question Mike is why did he send me and Mia away from him, he could've easily talked to him and moved on but he went out of his way to make sure we were removed, why"

As the both of them go on about their own theory's I look out the window and at the building we're about to head in, yet my mind still continues to swirl. Why move me out of the way when I was never in his way to begin with?
Why turn up at an event I was in?
What is he up to?

"Mia?"

I snap out of the whirlpool in my head "yeah?"

"I said we should get going"

"Oh, right yeah let's go"

"I'll go get our bags and meet you downstairs"

I nod as she runs off leaving me and Mike alone.

"Second thoughts?" He asks with zero humour.

I sigh for the hundredth time today "no"

"It's okay if you are"

"Mike I'm not having seconds thoughts. If I could kill him again I would, if I got the chance to I would take it. Just because we have a past doesn't mean I'm going to be crying over it for the rest of my life and plus, I did kill him remember?"

"I never met anyone like you Mia"

"I'll take that as a compliment"

"It is, but I'm also so sorry, I wish you could be happy"

Well now that compliment doesn't sound like a compliment at all "I am"

He gives me a deadpanned look.

"I am trust me" what I really wanted to say is that I'm on the verge of breaking down and just ending it all but of course I don't. I instead give him a simple nod and make way down the wooden old steps to where Levi is leaning against a wall. The wallpaper behind her back is half peeled, the colour it once held has turned a moldy green and if you didn't see what it looked like before then I doubt you'd know they were once roses. The golden detailing to them was my favorite thing to look at.

"You might've killed him Mia but I was there"

I shoot her a confused look.

She kicks of the wall raising her eyebrows at me like she heard the conversation upstairs "yes you killed him but you also wrapped yourself right around him and was prepared to die right there with him, and you did, remember"

"And yet I'd slice his organs out whilst smiling. Funny how you're all so wrong yet continue to comment on this anyways huh?"

"Mia-"

"Don't Lev" I grab my bag out of her hand and run out the open back door. I cross the road in front making sure no one see's me.

Bane, normal people, police.....all need avoiding like the great fucking plague.
