Ashes to Ashes

Taken By the Wind pt 1

         Morning runs was something that took my mind off of things. Once, was something that took my mind off things. Now I lay in bed thinking over my strategies and how I can once and for all take Rosalind down. Devin was found, but now in a coma. Terra is trying to figure out a way to wake him up. I listen to the inhales and exhales of my breath before I close my eyes. Hearing my phone ring I blindly reach out for it before looking at the caller ID. Seeing my moms name pop up I answer it after the fourth ring. "Yes mother ?" I mutter while she sighs from the other line. "Sweetheart, Rosalind, has voiced her concerns with me and thinks you should leave Alfea. And I agree with her."

Sitting up in bed I sit in silence. "What ?" I ask while she continues to rant on how Rosalind is concerned for my health and that my magic is getting out of hand, that it's getting out of control. "I promise you mother I'm more than in control. That woman wants me gone. I believe I'm more than alright here at the school." I say while throwing the covers off of me. "Sweetheart your father and I are worried sick about you. After you told me you and Riven broke up, I've heard from you less and less until I'm lucky if you even answer my phone call or my texts." My mom says before I pull the phone away from my ear with a sigh. "Mom I have to go I have class." With that I hang up and grab my grey sweats and sweatshirt out that I realize is Rivens and I throw it back in my closet before grabbing a red sweatshirt. Slipping on some socks, with trainers, I brush my hair before putting it up in a bun. I slip on my oversized jacket before grabbing my bag. I glance at myself in the mirror before I head to the bathroom to brush my teeth.

Sitting in class I ignore everyone my mind occupied. Not hearing the bell ring I feel someone tap my shoulder and I jump looking back to see Grey. "Hi I must have spaced." I say while he smiles stepping back to let me up. I seen you while I was passing by. "You're the fairy im training with today right ?" He asks and I nod with a small smile. "Yes, I am, I know training starts in ten let me get changed okay." I say while he nods and I go back to my dorm to change into black leggings with a long sleeve workout shirt that matches my leggings. I head back out of my room to head to the field.

Grey and I practice for the duration of the class and what he asks after practice catches me off guard. "What do you think about Blood Witches ?"

"Hmmm...well I've studied them for awhile and I know fairies hate them and vise-versa, but I think they're misunderstood. Of course they can control people and cause harm but so can fairies. Both can be equally dangerous. Why do you ask ?"  I ask while sipping some water. "No reason just a random question." Grey says before I nod turning to hunch over before I throw up over the ring. Andreas walks up the stairs to the ring seeing me get sick over the ring. "When was the last time you ate ? Truly ate ?" He asks while I glance over my shoulder at him. "It's none of your business Andreas." I say before I turn back and throw up again. "Lydia ?" Turning back again I see Sky and Riven there and I turn back dry heaving while I fall to my hands and knees coughing. I wipe my mouth on my sleeve and feel myself grow light headed. Vision growing blurry, I go to stand but stumble. Catching my bearings I push Andreas away softly before I take slow steps towards the stairs before I feel myself falling. Sky catches me before picking me up. "You don't look well let's take you to Harvey." Sky says and I feel my body begin to ache and I lay my head against his shoulder. "I haven't felt well in days, I think I'm coming down with something. You should put me down I can manage to the greenhouse on my own." I say while Sky shakes his head. "Now who would I be as your best friend to let you do that ? Hmm ?"

"Okay I see your point and if I could carry your ass I'd do the same." I say while he laughs. "Wait stop put me down I have to throw up again."

Taking me to Harvey, I see a girl I've never met before along with Terra. "Lydia ? What's happened to her Sky ?" Terra asks while rushing over along with the girl. "Oh Lydia this is Flora my cousin." Terra mutters while I nod to her before groaning in pain. "I'll make a tea for her nausea." Flora says while walking off. Terra feels my forehead before pulling away. "My stars you have a high fever. My dad should be here in a moment to look you over." Terra says and in that moment he walks in.

"It's seems to me she has been poisoned. This poison is slow acting. The one who poisoned her really wanted her to suffer. Terra, Sky it's only going to get worse." Harvey whispers to them both while Terra looks over to her friend in worry. "We can identify the poison dad and give her the antidote." Terra says while Flora joins them. "I can help,  I just need samples of her blood and we can extract the poison and cross it with others to find a match. Find the match find the antidote." Flora says. Harvey sighs looking down. "I've seen these symptoms before, this poison is rare and the antidote is rarer. She's not had the best luck this year. And the place you find this antidote is in The Syrell." Harvey says while Sky sighs looking over to Lydia now as well. "Where do we find it." Sky asks while Riven walks in seeing Lydia. "Sky you have more pressing matters, I'll go with the girls to get the antidote." Riven says while Sky looks at him before nodding. "Get it done Riven." Sky says before leaving to find Bloom. "Where are we going ?" Riven asks "The Syrell, the outermost mountains deep on the other side of Solaria." Harvey says before grabbing a map. "It's still in the early stages, this is a two day journey, she has a week at best. I'll do everything I can to keep her calm because when the poison progresses to her mind she'll lose control and hurt not only herself but others around her, she'll begin to hallucinate and go through some of the worst pain she'll ever experience until it's too late, the only thing left to be done, is to kill her." Harvey says while Riven walks past them to go to Lydia. "I'll get you back up to speed love I promise." Riven says while Lydia grabs his arm while looking at him. "My mother called saying Rosalind was concerned for my health, she could've poisoned me." She says before she closes her eyes to rest.

"Let's go Riven we have no time to waste." Terra says while he gets back up to follow them out.
