The dwarven clerk said, "I have a couple of trays." He pulled out a tray of various pieces of rings, chams, bracelets and necklaces. He explained them all and what they do. There were a few pieces that caught her eye.
One was a solid silver, one and a half inches wide, shiny banded cuff bracelet. It had a round moonstone set in the center about twenty five centimeters in the center. The clerk said it was a transportation bracelet and would take you fifty kilometers away to a safe place from the spot you're standing in, sitting in or laying on. He said there was only one use per day. You put your finger on the moonstone and say the direction (north, south, east, west, northeast, northwest, southeast, southwest) inside your mind clearly. The person, creature you're holding on to comes with you and whatever they have on them. It was one 150 gold.
He also had a few small charms for a charm bracelet. The charms were, protection against magic, protection against physical attacks, protection against drugging or poisoning, and agility. They were 25 gold a piece. Sarah thought they would be good for Azure when he grew up, but she hated to collar him to wear them.
The last item was a large fancy swirled silver ear cuff that was elven. It was three inches long and attached inside the ear in the bottom then went up the shell of the ear and attached again at the tip of the ear. It had ancient runes and Celtic looking scrollwork carved into it. The clerk said that it was from a very powerful elven warlock that used it for self protection from harm in all forms. It was for protection against physical attacks, magical attacks, involuntary magical transportation and poisonings, drugging or bad water or food. It was 500 gold. He said it had been here in this jewelry store for over four hundred years. Nobody bought it because it costs so much.
Sarah said, "If I buy the transportation bracelet and the ear cuff and the four charms for 750 gold, how much will you give me for my magical protection ring?" She took off and showed him the ruby ring. The clerk looked at it under a magnified eye piece.
He said, "I'll give you 50 gold off the price." That was 15 gold more than she paid for it. Sarah smiled.
Sarah said, "I will return with two bags with 350 in each. You must swear on your life not to tell anyone what you sold me and how much I paid you." The dwarf was surprised but with the shady characters suddenly in town it was her safety at stake and his own.
The dwarf said, "I'll swear on my life to keep us both safe." Sarah shook his hand. Azure cried out and poked his head out of the pouch. She pulled him out to cuddle him and fed him a bottle.
The dwarf gasped and said, "Where did you buy a Cathmere?"
Sarah rubbed Azure's belly and said, "I didn't buy him. I would never buy one, it is criminal and against nature itself." She told him the story. "He was a runt at about a week old. If I'm judging by a cat's age and signs they go through as they grow. He is three and a half weeks old, I estimated." The dwarf was in shock.
He said, "You must be very special to have a forest spirit ask you to help save one of its most innocent creatures. I'll sell you the cuff and bracelet for 650 gold. You beautiful lady, have a destiny and need the protection to do it, whatever it is."
Sarah came around the counter and hugged the dwarven man and said, "Thank you my friend. I am Ashar, but you can call me Ash. This is Azure, it means blue from where I come from very far away. I will be back in a little while to prepare the money for you.".
He said blushing, "I am Randar." She finished feeding Azure and put him back in his pouch, Sarah waved goodbye. The dwarf was all smiles and thought, 'She is a kind and gentle human woman and so beautiful.'
