Sarah had explored the whole town, visited her horse every day and talked with Eladan. She had rearranged her baggage again. She had 7200 in gold even after spending everything there. She was afraid to sell anything from her world until she was farther away from Jareth's reach. She still had a large garnet bracelet. She wasn't sure what she was going to do with it so she kept it.
She took one of her bags and put all her female clothes folded up inside, all her jewelry, makeup and hair accessories. She had her male clothes in another. She bought two more blankets for her bedroll. Got her dried and fresh ingredients. She was packed up and ready to go in the morning. She had made good friends with people here Eladan, Randar, Dagnum and a sweet elf baker lady named Gilwen she swapped some recipes with.
Day 39
Sarah was dressed and ready to go. She left her bow and arrows on the bed with her bags and went down to eat breakfast. Dagnum brought out a lovely breakfast of eggs, mutton steaks, seasoned potatoes fried and toast with tea. She enjoyed her breakfast and it was time to leave. She went to get Cróga saddled and found him ready to go.
Eladan hugged her, kissed her cheek and said, "Ash, be safe and don't forget us up here on the top of the world."
She hugged him back and said, "Impossible. I could never forget you." She slipped a small coin purse in his pocket of his coat with twenty gold coins in it. She smiled and waved goodbye. She led Cróga to the inn and tethered him. She went inside and brought down her bags and put them down. She bent down and hugged Dagnum and slipped a bag of twenty in gold in his pocket. She went and took her baggage and tied it all down to her horse. Dagnum and Eladan both stood together and waved goodbye as she rode away. Eladan reached into his pocket and found the bag.
He said, "What's this?" He opened it to find twenty gold. Dagnum reached in his pocket and pulled out the same. They looked at one another.
Dagnum said, "I'm really going to miss her."
Eladan said, "I know what you mean. Beautiful inside and out." They both nodded and went their separate ways.
Sarah got down the road and dismounted her horse. It was time to try her bracelet out. She put Azure inside her shirt touching her skin between her breasts by tightening her belt higher around her ribs. She put her arm around Croga's neck in a hug and put her index finger on the moonstone pressing down and said in her mind, 'Northeast'. She opened her eyes and she was in a field with her horse and kitten in her shirt and all her possessions. She started to giggle. It was so cool. She looked at her pocket watch and it was 8:05am. She will do the same tomorrow morning and travel half a day and be close to wherever
She put Azure back in his pouch, resized her belt, hugged and kissed Cróga and told him he was a good boy. She mounted back up, tapped her remote hearing ring and headed northwest for the rest of the day.
She heard the bounty hunter, Braern, ask questions to people in other towns and Jareth bitching about nobody finding results.
When it got later into the day she started looking for a campsite. And found a nice spot next to a stream with lots of trees. Sarah put up the tent and unloaded the horse. She set up the litter box and fed Azure in the tent. Afterwards, she unsaddled Cróga and brushed him down. He hugged her and she scratched his ear and talked to him. She foraged wood and kindling. She searched the stream banks finding rocks for her fire. She caught a fish and found a slab rock to wash and use it to cut it up while tossing the refuse in the water. She oiled her pan and seasoned the fish. She started her fire and washed her hands.
As soon as she got everything ready to cook Azure cried out he was poking his head out of the pouch looking up at her through the open collar of her cloak.
