"i love you" the phrase repeated itself over and over again in minhos head. he wanted to say it back but he couldn't get himself to, and it was bothering him, it had been keeping him up all night.

he carefully moved his arm, trying not wake jisung, and got out of bed. he went down to the living room and sat on the couch, after five minutes he was joined by dori.

"why are i love you's so hard dori? i can say it to you so easily but in front of him it's like i can't speak" minho was so sleep deprived that he half expected the cat to answer him.

he looked up at the ceiling and sighed, "why can't i just say it" he said to himself.

he flinched when he heard footsteps behind him, he quickly turned around to see jisung walking towards him.

"it's half three..why are you awake?" he rubbed his eyes, yawning as he did "come back to bed min"

he simply nodded, "yeah okay" he followed his boyfriend back to his bedroom.

they both laid down and jisung turned to face him, tucking a loose strand of hair behind minhos ears, "what's bothering you min?"

"nothing ji, i just can't sleep" he answered.

"i know somethings wrong..you can tell me min" he caressed the boys cheek, "is it about what i said earlier?"

minho nodded, "yeah.." he frowned, he didn't want jisung to think he'd done something wrong, "i don't know.."

"did you not like me saying it?" the brunette asked and minho began shaking his head.

"no no..i just..i don't know" he sighed again, "i'm just angry i didn't say it back"

"why? it didn't bother me" jisungs hand was still rested against minhos cheek.

"but it bothered me sung..i don't know why i just can't get myself to say it to you.." minho bit his lip anxiously, "i want to say it but i just can't"

"that's okay love..take you're time with it" jisung did it again, he said love with such ease, it bothered minho because he couldn't say it even as a nickname.

"we both know how we feel about each other, we don't need some silly word to confirm it.." jisung leaned forward to place a gentle kiss on his cheek, "now get some sleep"

he nodded, "i'll try.."

in the morning, the two decided to go to a local cafe for breakfast, which was more like lunch as they'd woken up so late. their parents would be back later in the day so they decided to spend most of their time outside, so the house wouldn't get too dirty.

"a lot has changed since we were little" jisung said as he looked outside, "i'm surprised we haven't ran into anyone we know"

the boy spoke too soon, because ten seconds after he'd said that, a girl from their middle school came over to them.

"oh my god..lee minho?" she said, jisung recognised her. "it's been so long"

"chae, no way..what are you doing here" he stood up and hugged the girl, "you remember jisung right?"

she nodded, "he's the one you hated right? what are you two doing having lunch together?"

he laughed awkwardly, looking at jisung and then back at chae, "we uh put our differences aside, we're friends now.."

"i'm so glad i got to see you both but i have to go..call me when you're free min, it's the same number as before!!" she waved and left the cafe, minho sat down down.

"friends?" jisung looked at him blankly, "seriously min?"

"what i couldn't tell her that you're my boyfriend.." he replied, his voice getting quieter when he said 'boyfriend'.

jisung rolled his eyes, "whatever.." he didn't say a word after that.
