What if...Obi-Wan Trained Luke From Birth?

Obi-Wan Kenobi was meant to train Luke to become a Jedi to save the galaxy, but Owen Lars, Luke's uncle, just wouldn't have it, not wanting Luke to get hurt and become psycho like his father, Anakin Skywalker.  But what if Owen said yes, rather then no?

A New Hope

So let's just say that everyday, Obi-Wan requested Luke's training, Uncle Owen would have Luke go to Obi-Wan and train with him, and just for the fun of it, I think that Obi-Wan would definitely bring Luke to train under Yoda as well, to hear the former Jedi Grandmaster's wisdom.

Luke would probably still call Obi-Wan "Ben" instead, and Ben wouldn't have told Luke the truth just yet.  He would rather wait until Luke would be a fully recognized Jedi so he can prepare himself for the dark truth of his father, but would still give Luke his father's lightsaber.

So, let's skip to the point once R2-D2 and C-3PO come around.  Things would probably end up the same way.  Luke would get the recording from R2-D2.  He would run straight to Ben and give him the news.  They would discover the slaughtered Jawas.  Luke would be frightened and go to the Lars' house.  He would find the dead bodies of Owen and Beru.  He would probably still feel depressed, but not so much since he would probably see Ben, who was like the closet thing to a father for him.

The story would remain the same until we get to the point when Luke, Ben, the droids, Han Solo, and Chewie sneak into the Death Star.  Luke

, being more connected to Ben, would feel very concerned about letting Ben go to deactivate the Death Star's tractor beam alone.  Ben would tell Luke to trust in the force, after a mental conversation with himself, Luke would finally agree.  Luke would probably still be skilled with a blaster, so he can fight in multiple ways.  Vader would sense Ben's presence, and yet, a presence he had never sensed before.

Things would remain the same, although, Luke would be much wise enough to go into the garbage compactor before Leia gets the idea.  The team would have less trouble with the garbage worms (as I called them) since Luke could see them coming from a mile away.

The timeline would be the same until Luke sees Ben fighting with Darth Vader.  When Obi-Wan goes into the Force Ghost stage, Luke would scream in rage.  Killing his aunt and uncle was one thing, but killing Ben was a whole new category.  Luke would force pull the stormtroopers into the big gap.  Darth Vader would turn quickly, seeing Luke, the source of that unfamiliar presence.  Ben would tell Luke to run.

A frustrated and hurt Luke would let go of his hate and the team would leave.  Leia and the rest would be told by Luke that he was trained by Ben.

When Han Solo tries to leave, Luke would try to say that money can't always save him, but would respect Han's choice as he leaves.

The final battle would play out as if we skipped to the end, while Luke would still pilot a ship, his team would be the first attempt to destroy the Death Star and succeed, with the help of Han Solo coming back.

So basically, the Battle of the Death Star would have been very much shorter, Biggs, Luke's best friend, would still be alive.  And so the episode would end.

The Empire Strikes Back

The next episode would probably play out the same way until the Hoth evacuation scene, Luke and Biggs would kind of be the Original Trilogy's version of Finn and Poe.  Luke would be able to save a few more Rebels.

And since he already had training with Yoda, he wouldn't need to go to Dagobah for training, but rather Ben would send Luke to Dagobah to have Yoda help him cope with the Jedi and the still many rebels' deaths.

Yoda would probably say something like that he could only save as many as he could.  Luke would suddenly sense his friends in danger.

The episode would play out normally, but it once again changes once Luke is able to rescue his friends and Han Solo from being frozen.  The group would eventually see that Darth Vader had blocked their escape.

Luke would risk himself to keep Vader busy while his friends escape.  Luke most likely, with a lifetime worth of training, wouldn't lose his hand, but would still be a bit overwhelmed by Darth Vader's power.

He would be told the truth, but instead of dreading it, Luke would try to change Darth Vader's mind, but would fail.  He then escapes through the hole and gets picked up by his friends.

Return of the Jedi

Now we come to the finale, most of the beginning is the same, especially with Leia's capture and rescue Yoda's death.  Luke would be told that there was another Skywalker.  Luke would instantly realize that Lei is his twin sister.

Luke would give himself up to Vader to make him let his friends go.  Leia and Han's side of the story stays the same, however, Luke would resist Darth Sidious'  temptations even more easily and turn Darth Vader back to the lightside and defeat the emperor, but Vader's life would still be costed.

The galaxy would finally be at peace and Luke would stare off into the distance and see Ben, Yoda, and now, his father, Anakin Skywalker.  Luke would this time be able to create a new and stable Jedi Order and keep peace once and for all.
