Qui-Gon Jinn, one of the greatest Jedi of all time, and what some would call the wisest, for listening to the force. He was supposed to be Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One's master, but due his death and final request to his apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi was assigned to be Anakin's trainer, but what if Qui-Gon didn't die? Would Anakin have grown up to be the Jedi he was once believed to be?

The Phantom Menace

Things will pretty much change in the Duel of Fates. Obi-Wan would not get kicked off the platform, which separated him from his master in the first place.

Once they reach that room behind all the laser gates, Qui-Gon would rather be knocked out instead of having a glowing stick through his chest. Obi-Wan would defeat Darth Maul the same way and check on his master.

Yoda would still refuse Anakin's training while he accepted Obi-Wan's promotion to Jedi Knight. Qui-Gon would then say that he will train the boy, who risked his life for his friends and family, to become a Jedi, whether he has to stay or leave to do it. Obi-Wan decides to join the two. Yoda wouldn't want two Jedi to risk their statuses as Jedi for a boy who was a former slave.

Yoda would then ask Qui-Gon if that was how much he believed in Anakin. Qiu-Gon would calmly answer, "Yes." Yoda would be left with no choice, but to accept Anakin's training.

There would be no funeral, but Anakin Skywalker, his master, Qui-Gon Jinn, and brother, Obi-Wan Kenobi would still take part in the ceremony on Naboo. Anakin would look at Padme, Queen of the planet and give her a smile before they depart for the next 10 years.

In Anakn's Years of Training...

Anakin is a very humble Jedi, his power has risen up greatly, he is very powerful and fast, but he still has a bit of his mischievousness.

Qui-Gon would allow Anakin to explore a bit more with his opinions, teaching him how to listen to the force, teaching him teh ways of the Grey Jedi. The three would most undoubtedly go on missions together as father, son, and brother.

The Attack of the Clones

Qui-Gon is made a member of the Jedi Council, Obi-Wan is a loyal Knight, and Anakin is a great Padawan, one of the best apprentices especially.

The beginning would play throughout the same, that is, until Anakin meets an old friend, Padme Amidala. Anakin would still be attached to the former-queen-and-now-senator. Padme would explain her theory about Count Dooku, Anakin would disagree with her, saying that Dooku's past as a Jedi wouldn't allow him to think in such a way, Qui-Gon would think about it. The two would be tasked to protect Padme. Anakin would almost feel excited.

The assassination attempt would play out mostly the same. Anakin would tell Qui-Gon of him dreaming of his mother, Shmi. Qui-Gon would ask him what it's about, Anakin would say he doesn't know. Anakin's eyes would widen and head right for Padme's room, he would see the two creatures about to kill her, he would use his lightsaber to kill the creatures.

Anakin would turn to see the droid, Qui-Gon jumps to grab it. The chase would play out a bit differently, when it seems they lose the assassin, Qui-Gon would be more confused rather than disappointed when they lose the assassin. Anakin, still being reckless, would hop off the speeder.

Anakin would be more patient, Qui-Gon would pull the same stunt as Obi-Wan in the original timeline. The two catch the assassin, but Jango Fett, from a safe distance, would kill the changeling and fly away before she gives out too much info.

At the Jedi Temple, Anakin is told to watch over Padme, Qui-Gon is to look for the assassin. Qui-Gon would feel concerned for Anakin, but Anakin would say, "Trust me." Qui-Gon would then accept. Obi-Wan would tell Qui-Gon of an old friend of his named Dex. Qui-Gon would then set a course for Kamino and would play Obi-Wan's role.
