Chapter Ten

Lola

I wake up in an unfamiliar bedroom..

Last thing I remember was being hit in my eye by a pimp then having an anxiety attack in China's car.

Someone knocks on the door.

"Come in" I speak with a raspy voice.

"Hey girl, how you feeling?" China asks handing me breakfast from Blu Jam Cafe.

"I'm feeling okay, thank you for coming to get me last night and thank you for the food" I reply while taking the breakfast from her.

"Of course and Red says you can stay here for as long as you need to" China tells me causing me to start crying.

"Thank you so much" I stand up to hug her.

"I won't be here long I promise. I just have to figure a lot out fast" I tell her.

"It's okay girl, take your time" She tells me.

I smile.

"You want to go with us to the grocery store?" China asks.

"Yeah, can I take a shower first?" I ask her.

"Yeah the bathroom is right there. There's already soap and wash cloths in it. I'll bring you one of my outfits to put on" She leaves the room.

I let out a sigh of relief..

I've been through so much shit in my life. I'm just thankful that I met China, She's the true definition of a real friend.

I get up and walk into the bathroom, turning on the light to look at my eye in the mirror.

It's still black and swollen... I look terrible.

China

I gave Lola a crop top and some shorts to put on after her shower.. Now we're at the store with Red.

"What else we need?" Red asks me while throwing a bunch of random snacks into the shopping cart.

"I'm pretty sure we got everything" I tell him laughing.

"Lola you want anything specific?" I ask her.

"No, thank you though boo" She smiles.

"You're welcome" I respond.

We walk towards the checkout registers and Lola stops in her tracks like she seen a ghost.

"You okay?" I ask Lola as she stands there with fear on her face.

"The hell wrong with her?" Red asks confused.

"I don't know" I tell him.

"T-That's the pimp who hit me last night" Lola stutters.

"Which one?" I ask because there's a lot of people in here.

"Blue Polo shirt" Lola attempts to hide behind me.

"Lola go to the car, China stand right here and pay for the food since he doesn't know your face. I'm gone handle it" Red says handing me more than enough money for the grocery's

"Okay" I reply not knowing what he's about to do but I don't want to question him.

Lola quickly leaves the store to go to the car and Red heads out behind her...

Red

"Get in" I tell Lola unlocking my car door for her.

She gets into the car and closes the door..

I walk back over to the front of the store, waiting for the nigga with the blue Polo shirt to come out...

After a few minutes I watch as the nigga comes out of the store and walks towards his car.
