Chapter Twenty-eight

Red

I pull up to the restaurant looking for China but she's already gone.

"Fuck!" I yell in anger.

I walk out of the restaurant, getting back into my car.

"Hey Siri, Call China" I speak as I drive.

"Calling China" Siri responds.

It rings...and rings... and rings.

"Hey you've reached China leave a message" Her voicemail says causing me to sigh.

Damn girl I miss you...

China

"Really?" I ask Jamari laughing as he tries to do a backflip for the fifth time. We're at his house.

"I swear I use to do these motherfucka's all the time" He tells me.

"You better stop before you break your neck" I tell him wiping my tears from laughing so hard.

"I'm gone do one later to show you watch. You want to smoke?" Jamari asks grabbing his rolling tray.

"Yeah sure" I answer nodding as he sits down.

I watch as he rolls the backwood then puts it to his plump lips, lighting it up and taking a puff.

"Thank you" I tell him as he passes me the backwood.

"I ain't never had nobody say thank you when I pass them the blunt" Jamari tells me with a chuckle.

My phone starts to ring...Again. I look at it seeing no caller ID so I know that it's Red using star six seven.

"I'm going to step outside and answer this" I tell Jamari as I stand up.

He nods and I pass him the backwood. I walk out of his living room and out of the front door.

"Hello?" I say answering my phone.

"Where are you?" Reds voice fills my ears.

I think about what to tell him..

"Around" I say biting my lip.

"China, it's been ten days, come home!" Red demands.

"I've been taking anger management classes. I'm sorry for hitting you, you didn't deserve that. I over reacted when I was in the wrong and I'll spend the rest of my life making that up to you. Baby just please come home" Red continues...

I sigh.

I still love him so much and I miss Dj..

"I'll come home in a few hours" I tell him giving in.

"Ok, see you soon" Red tells me.

"See you soon" I say ending the call.

I take a deep breath before going back into the house with Jamari.

Red opens the front door as soon as I text him that I'm outside.

"Hi" I say softly walking pass him and into the house.

"Hey mommy man" I coo at Dj as he sits in his rocker.

"I've missed him so much" I tell Red.

"Did you really?" Red asks sarcastically.

I sigh

"Yes I did" I tell him.

"Ok, I don't want to argue but can I ask you one question?" Red asks sitting on the couch.
