Stiles didn't know what to say or what to feel. He just felt how is magic wanted to reach out to Peter. Wanted to wrap around the older man. It never acted like that towards other people. Then it clicked and Stiles knew that he was right with his suspicion. Peter is and always was his Mate.

The Spark could feel it in every fibre of his body. But there also was a feeling of deep sadness and betrayal. When Peter was his Mate he let Stiles leave, not even telling him they are Mates. Stiles didn't knew how to feel. On one side he just wanted to hug Peter but on the other side he wanted to curse him. Leave him, like the Wolf did him. Stiles put an emotionless mask on his face. For now, he just wanted to burry every emotion he had:

"What do you want, Peter? What are you doing here?"

For a short moment everything was silent, and Stiles must admit he never saw the wolf in front of him speechless. But of course, Peter found his composure fast:

"Stiles. I heard someone moved into this house and that after it was empty for such a long time. You know me. I needed to know who it was and I'm surprised it was you. But believe me when I say I'm positively surprised. I thought you would neve come back. Do you plan to stay?"

When Stiles didn't knew better he would say Peter was his old self, but Stiles knew better. Of course, he noticed the hope in Peters voice and this little bit of hope pushed Stiles to not close the door in Peters face:

"Yea, I plan to stay here. Is that okay for you?"

Stiles asked sarcastically. It was like back then, Stiles felt free with Peter. He could be himself and didn't felt pressured to pretend. Peters light chuckle filled the silence:

"More than welcome, believe me."

And there it was again the sadness. Stiles chuckled without emotions behind it:

"Didn't felt like that back then. You now when they kicked me out. Or when I left, and no one stopped me."

You didn't stop me, Stiles thought. Immediately Peters smile fell:

"Stiles, listen I never wanted you to go and for sure I never wanted you to be kicked out. When I heard that you wanted to leave, I wanted to come to your house, to talk to you but...but I..."

Stiles couldn't believe it. He never saw Peter struggling to find the right words, so nervous and vulnerable. But he wanted to know. He wanted to know what Peter had to say so he just waited for Peter to talk again:

"Okay, I couldn't come. I wanted to but I couldn't and when I heard it was to late, I felt so much guilt, till this day. You must believe me."

Peter sounded so desperate. While he tried to explain everything, he grabbed Stiles hands in his. He clung to them but at the same time he was very gentle to not hurt Stiles:

"Why? Why couldn't you come to me or say anything? Peter, I felt so hurt and alone..."

Stiles whispered:

"Please tell me the truth."

And then there was silence. The moment Stiles wanted to take his hands out of Peters grip, the grip tightened and Peter replead barely audible....
