The age group of people was no more than 15 years; some of them were crying and weeping.
A chill ran up my backbone as I clutched Aiden's hand forcefully. I wished that Mom was here, her words always make me calm, but then I realized that I had my brother while some people here had no one at all.
Aiden signaled for me to sit down on the empty chair, I nodded and sat down. My head was aching and my knees were jelly. I was feeling nauseous and queasy. But when I made myself comfortable a loud noise was heard.
Creak!
I found myself lying on the freezing metal ground. I was able to pull myself up, but gained a few giggles and laughs from the others. Great! Even the chair felt woozy now.
We were interrupted when a man's head popped inside from the opposite metal door. His icy blue eyes traveled from me to Aiden and 2 other teenagers. He nodded and fixed his purple top hat.
We got to our feet and passed through the door.
The ray of sunlight hit my face, instead of being happy I hissed. I enjoyed shade more than daylight. Xander called me Vampire sometimes, but that didn't bother me. He was a good friend.
The long grass beneath my feet brush against my jeans as the cold breeze blew. I wrapped my arms around my jacket tighter, I felt cold and it felt like my body temperature was dropping.
"This is it. I am Lionel Williams." He stated. "Don't be scared."
"Don't hesitate and do not run." The girl behind me muttered.
She looked worried and anxious. Her long burgundy hairs were tied in a two messy pigtails and her cheeks had a red tint. She straightened her black pleated skirt that ended right above her knees.
The boy beside her had a devilish smirk; he wore a blue v-neck jumper and grey trousers. His burgundy hairs hung right above his eyes, and his freckles covered most of his face.
"We will call you after one hour; do not go far from this garden!"
We nodded, Aiden's skin was freezing even in the sunlight, his hazel eyes look confused as if he didn't know the journey ahead of us. He was frightening me, I wanted sometime alone.
I pointed towards the boulder near us. "I'll be fine."
Aiden nodded and let go of me. I sauntered towards the rock and settled down. My head throbbed again, I squeezed my eyes tightly.
"Are you feeling alright?"
I opened my eyes and blushed. The same girl I saw stood before me, her hands gently kept on mine.
"Yes!" I uttered. "Just a little blue."
"It's okay." She smiled. "Well, If you must know. This place is like a trap."
"What?"
"Type of. My mother told me we had to prove ourselves correctly, so we don't get killed. Hard to believe but that's the truth. This place keeps us trapped until we are ready. One hour is enough."
I nodded. Things seemed a bit clear to me. But how can we prove ourselves?
"I am Destiny Paige." She reached out her hand for me to shake.
I smiled and shook it. Destiny sat beside me and shifted her legs to and fro. I had time to observe her more closely, she looked more like a typical school girl. White buttoned top, knee-high socks and black Mary-Janes.
"I am Aubrey Higgins." I grinned. "Is that your brother?"
"Yes," She said. "Tyler Paige, up to no good."
That cause me to chuckle. She was right. Tyler was throwing pebbles in the pond. Whenever he turned towards me I got this feeling that he would be the best murderer when he grows up.
