Chapter 11: We Have To Go Now! (Ryker Pov)

(Yellow eyes not blue) he only has one eye showing the other has a patch over it.

I watched the guards run into the inn that we were hiding in and yell 'in here' then I heard a bunch of arguing down the hallway, so I swiftly put my coat and sword on before slowly picking up Amiera who protested but still leaned against me.

"I'm sorry but we have to go now they found us" I said walking over to the window.

She hummed acknowledging what I said and tightened her grip around my neck, I broke the window before jumping out and sprinted.

"OVER HERE THEY ARE OVER HERE!" A guard shouts running after us.

Oh no...

I kept running and used my wolf powers to make me run a little faster, I ran right out the village onto a muddy path which didn't help because the men on horses would catch us.

Is it worth the risk..? Should I change into a wolf..? What will Amiera think of me..? No I have to... do it for her safety... why am I so protective right now..? Aghhhhh...

I ran into a small group of trees and put Amiera down on her feet, she looks up at me with concern.

"Okay so I'm going to do something that might freak you out so I promise you that I wouldn't hurt you or do anything that would harm you but I have to do this otherwise we will be capture by the guards" I explained.

~ Amiera pov ~

"Umm okay..." I said unsure what is going to happen.

He closes his eye and inhales, I stand there watching his every move and saw his body change and grow into a huge wolf. My body froze and I lost my will power to speak, I took a step back and saw Ryker standing there staring at me looking for something.

"You're- you're- you're- a wolf!?" I stuttered.

"Yes I didn't want to tell you because I knew you'd freak out" he says.

"Yeah I see why! But why are you just telling me now!?" I asked.

"Because we're in trouble and this is the only way to lose the guards" he replies.

"That makes sense" I mumbled thinking it over.

"THEY WENT THIS WAY INTO THE TREES!" A man shouts.

Fear spread across my face as I turned to Ryker.

"Hop on!" He says turning to the side.

"Are you sure?" I asked being unsure.

"You don't have a choice!" He shouts.

I mustered up all my bravery and jumped on his back, he bounded out the trees and back onto the muddy path. I held onto his fur which was extremely soft and fluffy and looked behind me. The guards were coming up fast and it worried me so I leaned forward to Ryker's wolf ear.

"Hurry Ryker they are catching up to us!" I shouted.

He growls and picks the pace up, I looked behind me again to see them fading away in the distance and relaxed, which Ryker must of picked up on because he slowed down to a bouncy run, I smiled and held my arms out letting the wind hit my face.

"This feeling is so nice" I said.

"They're gone but we'll keep going until nightfall" he says.

"Hm okay" I hummed.

He slowed down to a walk and became silence which was so nice, I leaned forward and curled up on his back feeling his warmth put me to sleep.

This is nice...

~ Ryker pov ~

I chuckled feeling her body go still.

She must of fallen asleep...

I inwardly smile and look around the landscape, until I found a bunch of trees up ahead and decided that would be the best place to rest. I carefully change into my human form and carried her over to the tree, I rested her against it before turning back into my wolf form in case we get ambushed. I laid down next to her with my front facing her and I slowly relaxed into the position, until I heard some shuffling and then something leaning against my side. I lift my head and turn to look at Amiera who huddled up and curled inwards into my side, I could see her shivering which made my senses go wild and instinctively put my big fuzzy tail over top of her to keep her warm.

"Don't worry Amiera you're safe with me" I said watching over her.
