I walked out to the balcony and leaned against the railing, I took in the fresh air and closed my eyes feeling the wind hit me.
So nice...
"AMIERA!" Someone shouted.
Really...
"COMING!" I shouted back.
I went back inside and walked down the long white polish hallway, I put my hand on the railing as I made my way down the stairs and the sounds of my heels clicking against the marble floors announced my arrival as I walked into the throne room.
"Hello Amiera," my father says.
"Hello Father" I said bowing.
I stood there with my hands behind my back and quietly waited for my father to speak.
"Since your 18th birthday is coming up it's tradition that we hold a ball and find you a man to marry" he explains.
"Yes father but you promised on my 18th birthday that I could go out into the Forgotten Forest and search for the unicorns" I said.
"You are not going to the Forgotten Forest, it's too dangerous" My father says, sounding annoyed.
"But father-" I said, desperate to go.
"YOU ARE NOT LEAVING THIS CASTLE!" He shouted.
I took a step back in shock and tears filled my eyes.
"I'm sorry Amiera," he says, sounding sad.
I turned around and ran back up the stairs to my room, I flopped onto my bed and let the tears roll down my cheeks. I sat up and immediately looked at my unicorn collection. That's when I realized. Why ask? When I can just run? I stood up and walked to my walk-in wardrobe, I opened the door and started grabbing clothes. Then I realized now isn't the best time to go since it's my birthday in three days time.
I'll plan it then...
I packed my clothes away and grabbed a feather and paper from my desk, I sat on my chair outside and started planning my escape.
- Escape 4 days after my birthday
- Pack Clothes, Money, Food
- Need a weapon
- Will use Jack to get out
- Take back way
- Ride as fast as I can
- Get directions to Forgotten Forest
- Go into the Forgotten Forest
- Find the unicorns
- Ride a unicorn
- Show everyone they are friendly
- Hopefully bond with one and take it with me as my own
- Live happily ever after
The bell rang and my head snapped to the selection of bells hanging on my wall. I jumped up and saw that it was the dinner bell. Oh no... I ran down stairs and fixed my hair, while running my hands down the skirt of my dress, smoothing it out and nodding to the guards who were waiting for my signal, they opened the door and I walked in.
"Hello father" I said without emotion.
"Hello Amiera," He says with the same tone.
"Hey Ami!" My younger sister excitedly says.
"Hey little sis" I said joyfully.
I sat down opposite my sister and my parents sat at both ends of the table, the cooks came out and brought us our food. I picked up my fork and started eating the salad, this is so boring... after I finished eating I put my fork down and stood up.
"Where are you going Amiera?" My father asks.
"To my room or am I not allowed?" I replied.
"Of course you are," he says.
"Thank goodness" I said, sarcastically whilst leaving the room.
I walked out and went to the balcony, I looked up at the night sky and smiled seeing the moon high in the sky.
I can't wait to leave...
But first my birthday ball...
