Chapter 13: The Real Truth (Amiera Pov)

I sat opposite Hestia listening in on her side of the story, while Ryker's head was lying on my lap.

"Sleep you deserve it and I thank you for looking after me" I whispered.

He nodded and completely relaxed, I combed my hands through his hair and looked back up at Hestia who was about to tell me about her side of the story.

"A long long long time ago..."

Where unicorns and humans lived in peace and a time where we used magic to help the humans do more things. Was a man and this man was greedy, so greedy that he wanted to steal all of the unicorns magic. This man was King Noran of Bryalshire... your father's great great great grandfather. He wanted the magic all to himself so he sent out the best guards and hunters to hunt the unicorns down, I was shocked when they came with swords and nets that we all ran. But sadly it wasn't enough... most of my family and friends were killed and we didn't know where to go. And surely day after day... they kept killing us off and sending them to the king who had put out a huge bounty on the wanted posters for all unicorns and that's when the war broke out. We had to fight for ourselves and kill any human who tried to kill us first, and then it got to a point where there were only a few of us left. So I had no choice but to lead the herd into the Forgotten Forest where we found this place and decided it to be our new home, so now we live and thrive here where it's safe and no one can harm us.

"But now that your here things have changed" Hestia says.

"Wow that's harsh I didn't know that it was my family" I said looking down at Ryker fast asleep.

"It's not you're fault they kept it from you" Hestia says.

"Since I was a little girl I've always dreamt of seeing a unicorn in real life and now that I have it's very hard to believe it" I explained.

"Well it's an honour" Hestia says.

"I have a question" I said.

"Yes?" She says.

"When I'm queen which will be in the next couple of days I want to make a truce between humans and unicorns so you wouldn't have to hide in here and to make this happen I'd like you to accompany me to the castle and I promise to make sure no one hurts you" I explained.

Hestia doesn't say anything and instead stands up.

"No" she says.

"But why?" I ask.

"We can't trust the humans anymore" she replies.

"Trust me then and I promise you that if they some much as lay a finger on you they will be executed on the spot" I said hoping to persuade Hestia.

She goes quiet again and looks around at the unicorns, I sit quiet still combing Ryker's hair waiting for a response.

"Okay but I'll go, just me" Hestia says.

"Of course thank you for doing this and if this goes well you all can live at my castle as I have a secret garden" I said pleased at the answer.

"Don't count on it going well" Hestia says.

"I'm not I'm just hoping is all" I said.

"We leave tomorrow at dawn" she says walking off.

"Okay!" I shouted.

I looked down at Ryker and watched him slowly wake up, he sits up and yawns.

"That was the best sleep I've have in a long time" he says.

"That's good" I said giving his lips a peck.

He smirks and kisses me longer, I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him down with me.

"I never thought I'd be in love with a Princess" he whispers.

"I never thought I'd fall for a wolf" I said blushing.

"You should be lucky that you have me because I don't like a lot of people" he says chuckling.

"As should you falling for a Princess" I said giggling.

He changes into his wolf form and pulls me to his fluffy chest, I lean into him and soak up all his warmth not realising how cold I was.

"Why are you alway so warm?" I asked being jealous.

"Because I have thick skin and have fur and I'm not cold blooded" he says smirking at the last part.

I hit the side of his face and glare up at him.

"I'm not cold blooded" I said.

"No your my warm hearted unicorn lover" he says nuzzling my face.

I giggled and wrapped my arms around his snout giving him a hug.

"And your my strong warm wolf man" I mumbled.
