Chapter 9 - "Unexpected Confessions"

Five minutes later, everyone except for Steve was gathered in the lab. Natasha walks in and says.

"She wants Banner. She wants to unleash the Hulk to distract us from something bigger."

"Something bigger then the Hulk?" Starks says

"Catching her was too easy. She came here for a reason. She is using Barton for a reason."

Then out of nowhere, Tony's pocket starts to talk. J.A.R.V.I.S.'s voice says.

"Sir, override completed, you now have access."

"Finally!" Toney replies

"Whats going on, Mr. Stark?"Fury asks

"Uh-kind of been wondering the same thing about you."

"You're supposed to be locating the our missing pieces."

"We are, the model's locked and we're sweeping for the signature now. When we get a hit, we'll have the location within half a mile." Bruce speaks up

"And you'll get your pieces back, no muss, no fuss. What is Phase Two?"

Steve walks in with what look like a sceptre in his hands. He places it on the table in the middle of the lab.

"Phase Two is S.H.I.E.L.D used this sceptre to make weapons." He turn to Tony

"Sorry, your computer was moving a little slow for me."

"Rogers, we gathered everything related to the sceptre . This does not mean that we're-"

"I'm sorry, Nick."

Tony turns the computer screen towards Fury. It shows a plans for some a missile.

"Why were you lying?"

"I was wrong, Director. The world hasn't changed a bit."

Finally annoyed with the conversation, Thor interrupts.

"Excuse gentleman where did you get the sceptre of Svartalfheim?"

"The sceptre of what now?" Tony asks

"The sceptre of Svartalfheim, a very dark and powerful weapon forged by the Dark Elves but it looks incomplete."

"Shit, Nick, what are you guys into?"

"Listen, with what happened in New Mexico last year, I mean we had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town. We learned that not only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly-hilariously, out-gunned. So we started looking for ways to defend ourselves and this sceptre is one of them."

Loki looks up at Fury.

"Sorry, I guess that was me?"

"My people want nothing but peace with your planet."Thor says.

"But you're not the only people out there, are you? And, you're not the only threat. The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, they can't be controlled."he points to Loki.

"Hey! Loki might not be innocent but he is not an threat anymore." Charlotte speaks up for Loki.

"Director, what is the man of Iron looking for exactly?"

"Like you said the sceptre is incomplete. We've had it since the sixties but we have just now started testing it and we have only been able to unlock a small portion of it's power. Mr. Stark and Dr. Banner are tracking the other two pieces that are missing."

"The gem and topper." Thor says. "With those the sceptre would be a weapon of imaginable power. Hella could do anything including walking up the army of the dead. "
