Are we still friends, bro? Chapter 4

Dustin Ijioma has kept a distance from his dear friend and brother Gideon.

It's been almost two years since what had happened between Gideon and his youngest sibling and sister, Danielle-Grace.

Still he was unaware of the role she had played in becoming his wife. To him Gideon had taken advantage of her whether it was mutual or not. He was shocked too when he found out that Gideon had proposed marriage to his sister despite knowing the fact that he would have objected.

After Mirabel's death Gideon had been truthful to him that he wasn't going to marry anymore. Because he might not love the lady like he did with Mirabel.

Already Dustin noticed the telltale signs of love that Danielle had towards him.

Subtly and through words of love he had told her to find her life outside his circle. His intentions were to keep her far away from Gideon as far away as possible.

Well he wasn't sure that it worked.

The day he found out about their intimacy he was mad,furious and angry.

Those emotions were targeted at Gideon because he felt that as a man whose sexual feelings needed to be satisfied used his sister as his best "option".

The thought in itself was terrible and disgusting,but what he couldn't just understand was Danielle's acceptance and calm demeanor.

It then dawned on him that she probably wouldn't tell him exactly what happened that night.

Gradually their friendship became affected negatively and the both friends turned brothers were "ripped"apart.

They weren't communicating as they used to.

He wouldn't stop talking to his sister because they were siblings and it was unavoidable.

Yes he had honoured their wedding and stood in for their older siblings who were in countries outside Nigeria and couldn't be in attendance due to the sudden wedding invitation.

Truth be told since then he will always try to call or send him a dm,sms but he would just delete it or end the call before it goes through.

He still loves him back no matter how things has turned out. He just prays that everything was beautiful in their relationship.

"Their" he meant Danielle-Grace and Gideon,one thing he was super grateful to God for was that Danielle didn't get pregnant before marriage it would have broken his parents heart and his too.

Their friendship began way back in secondary school when Gideon became his bunkmate.

He was in SS 2 and Gideon was a new transfer student from the school's other school that was for day students,Gideon was in Jss 2.

He didn't like Gideon at first because he just didn't like him. Although he wasn't a "bad" senior who punished junior students at random still he wasn't kind to him.

He would always send him on errands at odd times that might put Gideon in trouble but still he will try to bail him out.

Until something spectacular happened one fateful night. As late as 11:00pm Gideon had gone to relief himself on his return from the bathroom he noticed Dustin was convulsing.

He was very hot all over his body on close inspection.

Gideon not minding the consequences alerted the entire hostel block and quickly he was rushed to the sick bay by the next morning as soon as possible Dustin's parents came and picked him.

During his sick leave Gideon took on the responsibility of attending to his needs.

Such as ensuring his subject notes were up to date. And very important informations were kept for him.
