As We Were Meant To Be.

"I am not getting married " Chapter 10

It's been an accumulated number of weeks since Dustin and his dear friend spoke. Adure had been scarce during Sunday service for weeks now.

Dustin missed her quite alot, the church program she runs for the singles had been hosted by another  all this while she was absent.

Dustin has been faithfully sending her messages and praying for her always. Although his messages were left unread and unanswered.

This period was quite challenging for him. Because he noticed that these new feelings he already has for her were growing deeper.

Truly he was in love with Adure, but his restraint has been the subtle reminder that she was engaged.

He has committed his emotions to the Holy Spirit trusting the will of God to be fulfilled.

Despite his feelings towards his dearest friend, GOD'S PERFECT WILL was all that mattered to him.

Recently Gideon had expressed the new development in his marriage with Danielle-Grace. That news alone had given him joy and hope.

Gideon had left out the "divorce" incident from him because they were already ironing out issues.

Danielle-Grace was enjoying the attention her husband has been showering her with. Although he was yet to bring up the "divorce" issue again.

She had overheard him discussing with Dustin about the progress they were making in their marriage.

She was so grateful he didn't mention about the disagreement between Gideon and herself.

Dustin was pleasantly surprised when one fateful afternoon while preparing to leave the hospital after his duty was done. He was told to come to the visitors lobby that he had a visitor.

To his surprise he sees Adure seated at the far end of the lobby although she was interacting with someone.

Before he could reach her, she had turned and their eyes met.

At that moment it was like the whole world stood still. She looked quite different,if he could say. She had an expression of one who was happy and sad at the same time.

Adure concluded her conversation and came towards him. She didn't hesitate to give him a smile.

He was overwhelmed with gladness although full of questions. He couldn't wait to ask  her.

After awhile they were seated in the cozy comfort of a restaurant.

After they had made their orders they ate in companionable silence until they were both done.

Later on payments were made and they proceeded to a private corner to discuss.

Dustin was patient waiting for her to begin.

Adure opened up the him about her engagement that was called off because her ex-fiance was already married before with children.

Hearing this broke Dustin's heart.

He was stunned but kept his emotions in check although his hand reached out to hers that were on the table.

She told him everything from the beginning how the relationship started.

It was more of her aunt who had introduced her to the man not knowing that he wasn't who he was said to be.

He had been married before with children whom he had kept hidden until she found out from someone else.

It had been a very difficult period for her. She had spent days locked up in her home. Pleading,asking God to forgive her for almost marrying wrongly.

She decided to avoid questions that came flooding into her dm as the day of her traditional marriage came and passed without any event.

She had seen Dustin's messages at that time but had avoided them.

But thank God that phase had come and gone. She had moved on putting her past mistakes behind her.

As she expressed her tale, Dustin was in shock and surprised at what her life would have become.

He closed his eyes to ward off thoughts that weren't good.

Fearful thoughts of how miserable her life would have been.

Surely God works in mysterious ways. He had been praying for her through the season of her absence.

Not knowing that she was in a dark phase.

Truly he loves her, beyond the pain of what her life would have been. He was so glad, happy that she was free.

It would take a while to express his feelings as she needs to heal but he would wait patiently.

He would keep praying for her. He will be patient until God's plans fall in line for them.

By the time they left the restaurant it was very dark. So he had to drive her home.  And for  the first time he meets her family. They welcomed him warmly although his visit was very brief.

Gideon and Danielle-Grace have been enjoying marital bliss. He was getting to know his beautiful wife beyond what he had known all this while.

He has become invested in her passion for arts and botany. They had started plans to move from their current home to a new place. A means to start afresh.

Danielle has been enjoying her relationship so far with Gideon.

Although sometimes she reminds herself there were still some secrets kept between them. Secrets they haven't revealed to each other.

For instance no one knows about the miscarriage she suffered earlier in their marriage.

She knows that it wouldn't remain hidden forever even if she would want that.

For fear of what his reaction would be if she eventually tells him.

Their son has been a piece bringing them together. As they spent time with him they both spent time with each other.

But she hopes that this wasn't just a dream that would disappear.

Well at this point she made up her mind to tell all.

To reveal to her husband the secret she had kept all this while.

But for how long would she keep it hidden. Unknown to her something was about to happen that would change their lives but wouldn't break them apart.

That evening as they sat to have dinner they discussed about their days activities, enjoying each others companionship.

Arlo was playing with his toys in his corner,when all of a sudden he starts convulsing. It was an experience they never saw coming.
