{Present day}

As Will walked up the pathway to the Wheeler house, he kept wondering if this was a good idea or not. Tell him. He kept hearing Elyse's voice saying. He couldn't keep living with the pain of keeping it in. No matter how this goes, it'll come out eventually. As he approached the door, taking a deep breath in before knocking.

A few moments pass before the door finally opens. Though it felt like an eternity to Will. "Hey, Will. What's up?" Mike says, motioning for Will to come in the house. As he enters, the nauseating feeling comes full force. The boys walk down to the basement, Mike picking up on Will's uneasiness. For once he isn't being completely oblivious.

"Everything okay?" Mike asked, placing a gentle hand on Will's shoulder. Will flinches at the touch, causing Mike to pull his hand away. "There's something I need to tell you. And you're probably going to hate me. But I need to say it. Otherwise it is just going to eat away at me for the rest of my life." Will blurts out in one breath. Mike raises his eyebrows, confusion growing. "What is it?" He asks, genuinely curious and concerned. What could be so bad that Mike may hate his best friend?

"I-I- um...." He stutters over his words, Mike patiently waiting. A few moments of stuttering pass and he finally says it. "I'm gay...." Will says, waiting for Mike to say a slur, or to yell at him and say he's disgusting. That doesn't come. Mike just sits there. And then Will adds on. "And I've had a crush on you for as long as I can remember." Will finishes. Letting out a sigh, realizing he was holding his breath. Mike inhales, taking a moment to process what just happened.

{Steve's house. The next day.}
(Yes I'm evil. You guys don't get to know about byler yet)

As Steve is laying on his couch, watching fast times he hears a knock at the door. When he opens the door he sees a very smiley Robin next to an equally as smiley Elyse. He obviously knows what happened. "I'm assuming congratulations are in order?" He asks, motioning for the two girls to come inside. "Yes they are." Robin says, a big smile on her face. Her and Elyse both sit down on the couch, Steve sitting in a chair opposite them. "Wow, robin. I'm impressed. I didn't think you would actually do it." Steve says, earning himself a glare from Robin.

"Yeah yeah, shut up before I punch you." Robin says, giving a threatening glare to Steve. He raises his hands in surrender. Elyse gives a small laugh towards him. While their relationship isn't perfect yet, it is definitely much better than a year ago. They can actually hold a conversation. Never did she think they would get to this point. And surprised that their parents hadn't tried to turn him against her.

{Flashback to March 25th, 1986.}

As Elyse was sitting in her room, girls on film by Duran Duran playing she couldn't help but have this weird feeling through her body. Then she heard a door slam and she got pulled from the thought. Great she thought to herself. Dad's angry about something stupid again. How that would so quickly change in a mere two seconds when he threw her door open. He had been abusive in the past, but it never went past a slap across the face. But she could see the pure rage in his eyes. Wondering what it could be, she decided to speak. Or at least tried before he started yelling slurs at her. "YOU DISGRACEFUL FAGGOT! I DID NOT RAISE YOU TO BE THAT WAY!" He yelled, causing her mind to race. Who told him? What's going to happen? Is she going to get kicked out? Is she even going to make it out of the house?

As he walked over to her, hands in fists. Her heart started racing, fear raising instantly. As he raised his hand behind him, making instant contact to her face. Tears immediately streaming down her face at the contact. "DAD!" She yelled, tears still streaming down, clutching her cheek as he punched her in the rib. "GET OUT OF MY HOUSE! YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE!" He shouted, she frantically got up, rushing out her bedroom door. Practically flying down the stairs, her mother standing in the living room, she silently mouths I'm sorry before Elyse rushes out the front door.
