Chapter Sixty-Six

Eda's P.O.V

I let out a soft groan as I finally finished my work for the day and flew back home with a sleepy King trying his best not to fall asleep before telling his sister about his day. 

For the past four months since the fuck fest that was the Petrifaction ceremony and finally doing away with Belos, Luz had been in a coma as her magic tried its best to keep her stable while the healers did their best to patch up all the damage Belos did and that her magical overload did.

That gut-wrenching and terrifying feeling that coursed through my body was something I never thought I would experience until I saw all that blood coming out of my kid and the healers yelling at each other trying to stabilize her. Poor Minty and King never left her side till Lily asked me to come to help her. Minty refused flat out, saying she wanted to take care of Luz and King did too at first but he knew deep down there was not much he could do because of his small size so he did his best to put all the bad people away who helped Belos up until now.

"I want to make sure that when my big sister wakes up, she doesn't have to worry about bad people trying to take her away from us!"

It always brings a smile to my face when I think back on how protective King was of his older sister. He loves her to the end of the world and back and he would do anything to make her smile and laugh again.

"Mom? Are we almost there yet?" 

I look down at King as he rubs his eyes sleepily. Today was a pretty busy day as we had to deal with Minty's parents and the Triplets. You have no idea how much satisfaction I felt when I got to put away Odeilia and that bitch Sophia and her husband when it came to light that they were bribing the Emperor and his scouts to turn a blind eye to some of the sketchy shit that went on in their families and businesses. 

Alador had no idea what the fuck was going on in his family since Odelia did her best to keep him out of anything related to these transactions. Luckily for him, he asked for a way to help with the reconstruction as well as a way to connect with his daughter though I told him that she doesn't want to talk to him. 

I could feel a migraine coming up and the urge to dip into my apple blood supply as we landed in front of the house, but instead of Hooty greeting us, his head was stuck in the house which made me worry. 

So without a second thought, I hopped off of Owlbert and rushed inside with King hot on my trial. We followed Hooty long-ass body towards the kitchen and once we got there I felt my body grow weak at the sight I was greeted to.

Hooty was baking some of his delicious Iced Peaches pie, chocolate chip and peanut butter owl cookies, and his famous breakfast quiche happily as Luz was devouring it with little trouble while Amity laughs happily at how messy she got.

I drop to my knees and the sudden thud made all three of them turn to me. Luz's eyes widened and she immediately dropped her delicious baked good and tackled hug me to the ground," MOMMA!!!!"

I clung to my kid tightly and I am not ashamed to admit to saying I balled my eyes out seeing my owlet awake and healthy. King joined the group hug too and cried loudly and started punching Luz's arm rapidly softly, saying to never leave him alone again and how much he missed his big sister. 

"When did you wake up?" I asked as I kiss her forehead gently and checked her over as I finally took in her new appearance and lack of clothes beside her otter briefs," And what happened to you during your nap kiddo?"

I gently brush away her now snow white hair with multicolor highlights as well as inspecting her new scars, slightly pointed ears, and her now blind left eye, but instead of this making her upset. She kept grinning happily and leaning into my touch.

"I woke up about two hours ago and Ami and Hooty have been feeding me since I woke up really hungry." Luz pats her stomach happily with her lightly scared hand," Hooty made his amazing cookies and pies for me!!!"

"Of course I did! Hoot, but man do you eat alot of sweets Luz but that just means I have a new test subject for my baking!!" Hooty cheers as he gently picks Luz as well as King and tosses them up into the air, making them laugh happily.

Minty walks over to me as we watch Hooty play with my kids.

"I did check up on Luz while she was eating. Nothing besides her physically appearance and left eye has been affected from the ceremony. Her appetite has actually increased along but that's all I can tell from just observing her." She explains while smiling at the three," Eion would need to do a full scan on her soon to see if there isn't any internal damage."

"You are right Amity, so I'll call up Eion tomorrow but right now," I smile lovingly at my daughter as she runs over to us to ask us to play with her, King and Hooty," I just want to enjoy some time with my family."

With that we both followed Luz back to King and Hooty and for the rest of the night, the five of us enjoyed a long night of games, movies and exploring Luz's new control over her magic.

The bright grin on my daughter's face along with the sounds of laughter that haven't been heard inside the Owl House in so long made my heart swell up with such warmth and happiness. I never want moments like these to end as Luz snuggles up to Amity while King tells them about what happened since she was asleep while also giving examples with Hooty's help.

This was the Clawthorne family and I wouldn't want it any other way.
