Chapter Eight

"EDAAAAA!!! Look!!!"

Eda quickly turns her head in my direction and her eyes widen at my two new instruments and the really pretty girl who's hand I'm still holding.

Truth be told, I kinda forgot that I was still holding her hand and um it's really soft. I didn't want to let go anytime soon.

"Woah Luz, slow your roll there hun. Now before you show me your new instrument, why not introduce your new friend."

I could feel my face heat up as I nervously looked down at my feet.

'Crap! I didn't even ask if we were friends or not!! Now she thinks I'm a weirdo-'

"Nice to meet you, Miss Owl Lady, I'm Amity Blight." Amity gives my hand a light squeeze as she talks to Eda casually.

"Haha, I guess my awesomeness follows me everywhere!" She looks over to Amity and smiles mischievously," Now I hope you're not trying to whisk my kid away are you~?"

My entire face goes red as I puff my cheeks at Eda," Eda stooooop!"

She doesn't listen and start gently squeezing my cheeks, telling me I look so adorable when I pout like this. God strike me down!! Amity must think I'm a total loser now!!!

"Eda you're embarrassing me!! Nuuuu!"

Eda blows a raspberry at me and continues till we heard Amity trying to hide her giggles behind her hand. Ahhhh she's never gonna be my friend God seriously strike me down I'm ready!!!

"I-I'm sorry for giggling its just you looked so adorable pouting like that Luz." She gives me a sweet smile and I could feel my heart skip a beat.

I quickly hid my face in my tunic, still holding her hand as she squeezes mine softly.

"Okay that's enough of the sappy stuff, now what instruments did you get kid?"

After a few seconds of calming down my face, I show Eda my new violin and electric guitar. She starts to ruffle my hair into a mess.

"My kid is the greatest now time to test out your new instruments! As per tradition with the Bardic Haven!"

"Huh?" I look at both Eda and Amity in confusion," W-What do mean tradition!?!?!?"

"Luz, did you not know about the tradition here?" Amity asks. I shook my head softly and look at her confused.

"N-NO!! This is my first time exploring town not to mention being in a shop! Eda just told me about coming here as a treat and getting my instruments as a treat from healing!!" I could feel my anxiety spiking as Eda clears her throat.

"You have to sing a song with the instrument that chooses you. And since you were gifted two, you have to sing two with each instrument."

I felt my mind come to screeching halt at the mention of singing. I could feel my chest painfully tighten as my mind drifts to the small memories I have of me and my family singing in the living room of my childhood house.

Папа loved to play his beautiful mahogany violin and sing to me and mami in Russian. He would alway do this goofy little dance as he preformed for us with the biggest smile ever. Mami would always giggle at his silliness and than laugh happily as I joined him with my toy violin.

I look down at my new violin and I couldn't help the tears forming as my grip tightens a bit on the instrument.

"Luz? Hun, are you okay?" Eda crouches down to my level and gently brushes the stray tears away.

I could feel Amity move next to her to make sure I was okay as I felt her thumb gently rub my knuckles. I just met her not even an hour ago and she was being so n-nice to me.
