Before you knew it, it had been an entire year since you and Kyle moved in with the Skeleton brothers. Your brother got Sans used to public affection pretty quickly, seeing as he typically wasn't a Skeleton to show affection in the first place, unlike you and Papyrus how had started displaying it almost immediately after starting to date. Your head twitched over to Papyrus as he swiftly diced tomatoes for the sauce. Yes, you were making spaghetti again, but this time it was for a very special occasion. Papyrus was going to culinary school so that he could start his own restaurant. He'd gotten his acceptance letter today and you were very happy for him. Everyone was, you could hear the happy chatter from the dinning room. You stirred the tomato paste that would eventually become homemade spaghetti sauce as you listened in on their conversation. "You boys have come so far since we made it to the surface. I'm really proud of both of you." Toriel was saying. "yeah, well, i don't think we would've made it this far without the werewolves. kyle and [Y/N] really changed our lives for the better. frisk too." You heard Kyle scoff. "Don't sell yourself short, Sansy. You were the one who pushed to start that store and Paps pushed to become the first monster to go to college." You hand to agree, it was them, not you.

"What are they saying?" Your gaze returned to a curious Papyrus, who always knew when you were listening in on others. "All good things." You reassured. "Toriel is proud of you boys for your accomplishments." Papyrus flashed a wide smile. "NYEH HEH HEH! I AM NOT SURPRISED!" You let him drop the tomatoes in before you started stirring. "What's the story of Sans and Toriel anyway? They've always been closer than everyone else." Papyrus didn't even hesitate a second as he started chopping onions. "WHENEVER SANS WAS SLACKING ON HIS SENTY DUTIES, APPARENTLY HE WOULD GO TELL HIS HORRENDOUS KNOCK KNOCK JOKES AT THE RUINS DOOR. I WAS TOLD THAT TORIEL HAD BEEN LISTENING AND ONE DAY DECIDED TO RESPOND. EVER SINCE, SANS WOULD GO TO THAT DOOR AND THEY WOULD TELL JOKES TO EACH OTHER." You hummed lightly. "What a nice start to a beautiful friendship." You decided, Papyrus nodding along in agreement. "THAT I MUST AGREE ON."

Onions, sugar, ground beef, garlic, and herbs later, the meal was made and the people served. "So when do you start, Pap?" Undyne asked. "IMMEDIATELY! MONDAY IS MY FIRST DAY AND I'LL BE TAKING THE FOUR YEAR COURSE! IN THAT TIME, MY RESTAURANT SHOULD BE STAFFED AND READY TO OPEN BY THEN!" Papyrus explained. It was going to be an Italian restaurant, naturally, and he planned on naming it 'Papiro's Cucina Italiana' or 'Papyrus' Italian Cuisine'. From what he told you, aside from his schooling and designing the layout of the place, he had other big plans that he refused to tell you about. It made you suspicious as to why, but you supposed you'd learn soon enough. "Fuh hu hu, and to think I was the one to lead you down on this path! You're going to have the best restaurant in the WORLD!!!" The fish woman proceeded to yell, startling you. "He most definitely will." You agreed with a smile. "SEE?! You wifu gets it!" You gave her an utterly confused look while Papyrus looked alarmed. "Undyne!" Kyle looked as confused as you were, but it looked to you like he was gonna be confronting Papyrus about it. What was a wifu anyway?

You cleaned up while the others left, Papyrus preparing for bed even though it was still a couple hours yet before his usual bedtime. You had to say, compared to the first time you'd tried Papyrus cooking, he'd definitely improved. In fact, compared to other pots of pasta he's made in the past, this one was completely emptied within the first sitting. After finishing the dishes, you headed to the bedroom to find Papyrus. It seemed that he and Kyle were conversing though, with Sans also there looking surprised. Papyrus himself looked uncharacteristically nervous which made you feel antsy and protective. Your future mate shouldn't be feeling nervous. "WELL..?" Papyrus asked hesitantly. "..." Kyle looked deep in thought, like he was processing something. "Ok then. Uh, you have my blessing I guess. I know you'll take care of her." Oh, they were talking about you. It seemed to be pretty important too. "NYEH! THANK YOU, KYLE, YOU WON'T REGRET THIS! I'LL MAKE SURE SHE'S ALWAYS SAFE AND HAPPY WITH ME!" Papyrus chirped. "Safe, check. Happy, check. Would you look at that, Pap, you already checked all the boxes." You mused as you went to hug Papyrus. "What were you talking about?"
"NOTHING!" All three of them barked at once.♧♧♧
You kissed Papyrus cheekbone before he headed out for his first day of culinary school. "You have a good day, and get good grades, hm?" Papyrus chuckled as he returned your kiss with one of his own. "I will [N/N]. You be good, don't wander too far." You stuck your tongue out at him. "I might stop at your restaurant, see how things are going." You replied. "Oh and see about taking that position at Gerson's."
"I still can't believe he offered you a position there, he is stubborn about getting help. He must really like you." You beamed. "I like him too! Now get going before you're late!" Papyrus laughed as you all but pushed him out the door. Now that you were alone... "KYLE, I NEED ANSWERS!!!!" You all but slammed into Sans bedroom, though the sleeping Skeleton didn't stir even a little. Impressive. "What were you talking about last night!" You demanded to your brother as he clicked away on some video game. "Human/monster traditions that I don't have a full concept of, so don't even try prying further." You whined, but accepted the answer you got. "Well then, I'm heading out to Gerson's."2 chapters left
