Atharva POV ( For the first time ever)
I looked at Ahana training religiously and I was proud of her, not because she was working hard but also because she was not shattered by the truth. It was a good sign that whatever I did so far was a right step to do.
I still remember the first time I saw her after years. After the issues at home I was shattered to see two of the things I loved moving away from me. I loved my profession but I also loved Ahana, I can lay my life for her but I had to suffer in pain for breaking her heart. When I finished solving all my problems I got to know that Ahana started a new life now by getting married and also having the support of her family. I know it was right of her to moveon because I got delayed, it is not fair from my side to expect that she waited for me for me when I did not contact her.
The first time I saw her was when we caused the truck accident, which revealed the dirty deeds to the country. I came to admit those drivers for the check up when I saw her getting wheeled to the ICU, she was unconscious. I saw her and shook from the core, she was married, she was supposed to be happy but she was laying on the OT table without anyone by her side, I mean her husband has to be there right ?
I saw the doctor walking alongside her and asked him what happened to her as I was her family friend. As he knew I was the ACP he told me that she got admitted last night with severe pain in her abdomen, complaining of nausea, dizziness and fever. It was diagnosed that she had a bad appendicitis and it needs to be removed which is why they need to operate asap.
I held her hand sitting beside her whole night, her face looked pale and tired, it pains me to see her like this. Morning I left her side to check on the admitted drivers, when I came back I saw a women enquiring about Ahana's health with worry. As far as I know I was told she had family support, where is her family ? Now that I see this women, who is she?
I went and introduced myself to her, as soon as I told her about our acquaintance during college, she looked shocked, did she know about me? She composed her expressions, and I told our story and my family's truth because of which she revealed how her husband is and how she has no support from him I saw that even she was disappointed in Ahana's husband to leave her side and attend . She told me she works with Ahana and she was her only friend. That lunch gave me an idea of what was happening in her life and it angered me to know that her husband was like that.
I promised her though she revealed the truth and I know her marriage is a sham I would never disturb her life, if she agreed to this marriage and she is trying to work it out I will never come in her way and disturb her life. Its against my value system. When she heard me say that she looked guilty, like she is hiding something. I ignored the feeling and moved away from there keeping my promise of not coming in front of her, but I followed her around for couple of days whenever I have time.
She looked tired most of the time, her face devoid of happiness and make up. She used to drive around and some times I used to see her wiping tears. One day after my shift I decided to see her before I went home, I stopped by her apartments, she normally finishes her work and comes back to walk downstairs but today she was all dressed up, I saw a car drove by and she went in that, is that her husband ? The car registration number and model seems like I have seen it somewhere, when they both exited the car and joined the garden get together, I saw him. That was Viraj, that was the trafficking head. That cheap stake is Ahana's husband? Did she know that? Did she got blackmailed into it or did she get involved ? No she would never do that, I saw her being introduced to everyone, while Viraj is parading her like a trophy wife, she looked out of the place, after a while I could see her walking out of there in the pretext of going to the Loo and walked in the opposite direction, where it was isolated, I saw her shedding few tears and joining back to party. When she joined back she was paraded again amongst the people who looked at her with lustrous gaze.
My blood boiled, looking at the way he was treating her, I know it was time I get involved, I was looking for a break in this case and the break happened to be in form of Ahana, now she is the starting point for our investigation. We followed him around, Ahana was out of his circuit, he was meeting his accomplices , rejoicing but I planned to put him behind, one day I saw her recording their dirty deeds near that cottage, and she bravely put that into media, that was when I was proud of her.
The next day Viraj had beers, showed me his wife's picture, spoke about her lowly and planned to teach her a lesson, I got an opportunity and I saved her. I let him think he won for a while until he will confess to all his deeds. I saw her tired and I felt sorry for her. She was supposed to be happy and lively, but she is struggling. I will plan for a surprise soon, she needs to step out and enjoy.
I walked to her room and placed a dress which she could like, I placed an invitation for a theater show, she loved that in the past, I planned the whole night out and finally I will make her feel wanted.
