Ahana POV
All of us have landed in India and traveled towards our college in the booked bus by our university. We were all jet lagged and tired but I made it to the washroom before boarding to the bus in order to look presentable when we reach the college. All the students would want to go home by now but the principal and the officials wanted to welcome us as the deal with the UK University went good and from next year we will have the students from those universities studying here which is a proud moment for our college.
Once we reached the college gate we were welcomed by the staff and the other student's families with a smile on their faces. When I got down from the bus the principal blessed all of us and told us how proud they all were after which the staff left leaving us to the teary reunions. I saw all the students meeting their parents/siblings with a tight hug and I felt emotional for them, in the middle of all the rush I saw Atharva walking towards me with a 1000 dollar smile on his face.
Atharva : Hi Ahanaa
Me blushing : Hi Atharva
He came forward and pulled me into a safe and tight hug just like the other families were hugging. As most of them were from other departments and I barely know them, I dint care about the PDA. He moved my hair covering my ears and whispered "I missed you", which curled my toes because of his breath near my ears and our close proximity. We stayed like that for few seconds before we separated. Our luggage was placed outside, by then Atharva, whistled for an auto and we loaded my luggage and sat in it so that we could go to my hostel. The tiny space and the bumps made our shoulders touch and I tugged at my purse with my fingers out of shyness and an unknown bubbling excitement in my stomach.
Him: .................... Ahana ?
I could just nod my head in positive, then I realized I dint exactly hear what he said
Me: Atharva what was it that you just said?
Atharva: You dint hear what I said ? Then what did you nod your head for ?
Me: No, I zoned out
I looked guilty with my teeth torturing my lips and my eyes on my shoes. He stepped close to me and pulled my chin up with his fingers. I met his eyes and he gave his smile again.
Atharva: Would you like to eat something Ahanaa?
Me: Yes , I am actually hungry for some fried rice, the food in the plane was very bland, no salt, no spices and no taste. Oh, I want to have pani puri, no wait I want to have Dal makhni, scratch that I would ...
Atharva: Decide quick Ahanaa
Me: Dal and Jeera Rice
Atharva: Okay go up and put your luggage there, then we will go to the restaurant near our gate okay?
Me: Okay, wait for me
I pulled my stuff up with great difficulty, I requested the helper who stays with us to help me get my luggage up the stairs. I washed my face and cleaned up a bit before running down the stairs to meet Atharva.
He smiled when he looked at me and started walking, while I followed him after blushing. We were both walking when I felt his knuckles brushing mine, our hands accidentally touching, electricity shooting through my spine. Our hands played that game for a bit while my stomach did leaps inside. We were quite and enjoyed the cold breeze, sometimes I could feel his gaze on me but I dint want to startle him by pointing it out as I enjoyed the gaze. All the time I had one thing in my head, would he hold my hand ? He played the game really well but he dint hold my hand until he did and pulled me close to himself, my hands around his torso because of this sudden movement.
Atharva: Cant you see Ahana? You were looking down on the road and that guy with his bike and rash driving could have hit you .... Please don't zone out like that okay ? You scared me.
I held his face in my palm as he looked scared , angry and worried
Me: I am okay Atharva, look at me.
He looked at me for a second before pulling me towards a tree beside the less occupied road towards the science lab.
Me: Atharva, what happened ?
Atharva: Ahana, I acted foolish and lost you for a year, now when I got you I cannot lose you again, I just cannot.
He pulled me towards himself now my head nestled near his chest
Atharva: I got so scared Ahanaa , when I saw that guy driving rashly, he could have hurt you
I looked into his eyes and saw a deep emotion for me, something sacred, something pure, something special pulling me into a daze.
Me: I am okay Atharva, at that time I acted silly and stupid too. You were scared that you were losing out on your dream it happens, don't worry okay ? You apolozised and I forgived you, look at us now, we are here arent we ?
Atharva: Yes, we are here, together
I smiled in response when he caressed my face with his knuckles, memorizing my face. I closed my eyes, enjoying the sensation. I felt his soft lips on my brows and I sighed in content. This silence , the breeze, him and me that made me feel fulfilled. He kissed me on my cheeks next, then my nose... Before it went any further I stopped him, my hands on his lips
Me: What are you doing Atharva ?
Atharva: Ahanaa I feel something special for you, I have been feeling this since we met the first day. Ahanaa, when you left its like life stopped existing here and now when you are here I cannot help but speak out loud about us ... Ahanaa I .......
Me: Stop !! When is your test again? Your Competitive test ?
Atharva: In two months
Me: So, focus on that first, make your dream come true by scoring well and getting placed. I am here, you are here, in the last few months which decide our career, is it really necessary that we get diverted ? The feelings will be there, we are here, the time is in our hands, once we both are closer to our goals then we can name our relationship for long term, until then lets stay focused.
Atharva: Long term
Me: If your not in this for long term and you only want short term pleasures then I am not the right one for you so ...
He stopped me from saying anything further
Atharva: Ahana, so a few months from now I have my exam and after that we have semester exams and placement. The next day we are going to discuss us and you cant stop me, clear ?
Me: Well if you are interested then who I am to stop you
Atharva: Can you atleast tell me if you like the idea of it?
Me: If I dint have any interest in the idea I would not have been with you here like this at this hour. Now, can we go I am hungry ?
Atharva took my hand in his and started walking, I looked at him and he gave me the answer for the unasked question.
Atharva: What ?? Two people who are interested and who would be giving a name for their relationship this hand holding is allowed
Me: Oh is it ? What else is allowed ?
Atharva: Hand holdings, hugs, dates, long walks, Kis.....
Me: Speak that word out loud and you will regret it, I learned how to punch now
Atharva: Okay calm down, I wont say it yet
His words made me smile and we went to eat holding hands for the first time
