Stony: Cops

Years later

Authors Note:

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but this does take place where there are superheroes and superpowers. Tony, and Steve just aren't Captain America and Ironman, well not really. There is the hulk, or another version of the hulk in this story.

Tony sitting in room reading baby Chloe a book. It's been 6 years since tony adopted Chloe and each night tony tells her 2 stories. One is about her father, and the other of her choosing. Tony didn't know Chloe had powers till after her 5th birthday.

Late one night after Tony finished reading

11 pm

Chloe is 6 years old

Chloe woke up one night to find her father sitting in the rocking chair at the corner of the room talking with Carter, "hello?" Steve got up and walked over to his daughter, "hello, do you know who I am?" Steve watched as his daughter smiled, "and this is your uncle Carter." Chloe smiled, "it's nice to meet you." Carter smiled then Chloe continued, "papa, do you want me to tell something to daddy?" Steve nodded his head then said, "Tell your dad that its going to get better. I know these past few years have been tough, just hang in there. Will be together again." Chloe smiled, "papa, I'm going to miss you." Steve leaned down and kissed his daughters forehead, "Chloe, take it easy on your dad."

"I will, I promise." Carter said, "I'm sorry I couldn't keep your dad safe." Chloe smiled at carter, "Uncle Carter, I know you loved my papa... Daddy tells me about how you and papa met and everything but what happened to you. He just tells me that you were killed and how he got the killer." Steve sat down next to Chloe, "lay back down sweetie. It's time for you to close your eyes and go back to bed. Your dad will be mad if you're late for your first day of school." Chloe smiled then laid back down. Steve tucked his daughter back into the bed then said, "Sweet dreams little Princess." Chloe said in a sleepy voice, "Good night Papa." Steve and Carter disappeared as she fell back to sleep.

Years Later

Chloe's 18th Birthday

Tony found himself on the balcony of Stark Tower alone while Chloe's party was going on. A little after 1 Chloe walked out to her dad and said, "Daddy?" Tony smiled at Chloe, "why did you leave your party?" Chloe said, "Daddy, it's not a party without you. Come back inside."

"you go on, I'll catch up." Chloe took her fathers hand then smiled. In seconds Steve was standing at the opposite end of the room. Chloe said, "I know raising me hasn't been easy, so let me say thank you by this, and before you ask any questions, it is really him," tony turned to find Steve. Steve smiled then walked up to the two, "hello tony." Tony started to cry as Chloe said, "I'm going to bring him back to you Daddy. I promise." tony hugged his daughter then said, "thank you baby girl." Chloe smiled, "I don't know how long I can keep this up, so get what ever you want to say to him done first. Save your small chat for after." The two nodded there heads then tony said, "thank you baby girl." Tony kissed his daughters cheek then watched as she walked back inside and shut the door that separated the balcony to the inside of the tower.

tony and Steve sat down. Steve smiled, "hello," tony started to cry more then Steve picked up Tony's left hand to find the engagement ring, "you still wear it?" Tony wiped his tears away then said, "When I said yes, it meant forever. I'll wear this ring for as long as I'm alive and even then I wont take it off." Steve smiled, "I'm sorry I left you so soon. I promised you I'd never let you go, and in the end, I lied." Tony took Steve's hand then squeezed it tight, "You also promised me that you would keep me safe, and you did. I also found Loral." Steve nodded his head, "I know." Tony turned away, "you must think I look like an old man now." Steve placed his hand on Tony's face then said, "Were catching up to each other," then leaned in and kissed him. The two rested there foreheads on each other as they pulled apart, "I could die happy. Steve," Steve placed a finger over Tony's lips, "Not now, just, let me hold you. I don't know how long we have, but what ever time we do, I'd like to just hold you. "

After the Party

Chloe walked out on the balcony then said, "I'm sorry daddy," looking at her new book. When she looked up she was shocked, "how?" Steve and Tony Stood up. Tony said, "aren't you doing this?" Chloe shook her head then walked up to Steve and hugged him, "it's nice to finally meet you papa." Steve pulled his daughter in close then pulled tony in and said, "I've missed you both so much. If only Carter could see the beautiful Girl you've become." Chloe stepped back from her father then turned to see Carter, "you did this, didn't you?" Carter nodded his head as Steve said, "is he here?" Chloe turned to her father and said, "he's fading fast," she turned to see Carter, "Why?" Carter walked up to Steve and said, "If you love someone, set them free," carter placed his hand on the side of Steve's cheek then smiled before turning to Chloe, "tell him I love him, try and not get himself killed... tell him will meet again and tell his brother Bucky that he never failed me. He kept his promise and kept him safe. Tell Tony that he found the right partner." Chloe nodded her head, "good bye uncle Carter, don't be a stranger." Carter kissed Chloe's cheek then disappeared as a tear fell from her eye.

Chloe turned to Steve, "he tolled me to tell you that he loved you, to try and not die again, and that you'll meet again someday soon," Chloe took Steve's hand then looked at Tony, "he told me to tell you that you found the right partner," she smiled then placed Tony's hand in Steve's, "I have to go. I need to go see Uncle Bucky." Tony nodded his head, "bring him hear, he should see this in person." Chloe nodded her head then disappeared. Within seconds Bucky and Chloe were in the middle of the room. "what the hell Chloe. You know I don't like traveling like that." Chloe smiled then pointed to Steve who was walking in the room then said, "it's really him," Bucky looked at Chloe in disbelief, "go on Bucky, It's him." Bucky turned back to his brother then the two ran over to each other. Bucky wrapped his arms around Steve, and Steve did the same. Bucky said, "where have you been?" Steve turned to Tony and said, "in the stars." Bucky let go of his brother and smiled, "man, I hope I'm not dreaming." Tony said, "same." Chloe walked up to the others, "Can I go get the others?" Tony nodded his head then one by one Clint, Natasha, Hill, Thor, Sif and all of Steves other close personal friends showed up. Each overwhelmed and in disbelief like the last. They were all so happy, and Chloe... Well she just sat back and watched. Her family was together again, and that's exactly how she wanted it.
