Gift of the Nightfury: gloomy days, a kidnapping and a bad idea

The next day could only be described as grey and gloomy, although the People of berk remained setting up decorations, all of the cheer was gone, it was like a dark, depressive cloud was covering the village.

"Yak nog! Get your Yak nog!" Astrid yelled, holding a shield that was balancing a pitcher and two large mugs

"Come on! Get a frothy, delicious cup of cheer!" she shouted, walking past three gloomy kids that were depressively making a snow Gronkle.

She rushed over to Snotlout, Ruffnut, Tuffnut and Assur "hey, you guys, try this tasty new beverage I made for the holiday"

Tuffnut reeled back in disgust, "ugh! What's that smell? Is it you?" he growled pushing his Twin sister away.

"it's yak nog!" Astrid corrected, pouring a thick chunky liquid into the decorative mug, no number of words could describe Tuffnut's look of disgust as he watched the gloopy liquid not even make a splash in the mug.

"He reeled back in disgust again, gagging. "Augh, if I drink that, I'll yak nog all over the place"

Astrid clenched her fist and lead towards him threateningly, "Maybe you'd rather taste a punch in the face" astrid gave a threatening smile, but stopped when Snotlout gladly took the mug,

"Astrid, it sounds delightful. I'd love a mug" he grabbed the mug and quickly Skulled it down almost throwing up as soon as the "drink" if you even call it that, had reached his lips.

Astrid gave a smug smirk to Tuffnut who watched as Snotlout reluctantly swallowed, struggling not to vomit as he placed the mug back on the shield astrid was holding, "you can really taste the Yak." He barely managed to breathe out as he held his mouth shut, to prevent himself from vomiting all over the ground.

"YUM! What is that?" Fishlegs pushed through Tuffnut and looked at the beverage that was on the shield "You want to try some? It's my new traditional drink."

Fishlegs was about to grab it before Snotlout walked behind astrid and shook his head with the most horrified look ever.

Fishlegs took a step backwards shaking his head, declining astrid offering rather quickly, "Oh, you know, uhm, I- have suddenly and inexplicably changed my mind" he stared at the drink rather fearfully now, it must've tasted so bad because even Snotlout, who'd barely say anything to him unless it was to mock him, signalled for him to not take the drink.

"Well you don't know what you're missing." She gestured to Assur who shook his head with wide eyes "I'm all go, maybe hiccup or Ullr might want some"

Astrid gasped in realisation and nodded her head in thanks "Thanks Assur I'll go find them now" she quickly ran off out of sight in the direction to the forge.

"why'd you set her on me?" Ullr question making them jump, Assur stammered and pointed at Snotlout, making Ullr silently laugh, "oh fuck," he wheezed wiping a tear from his eye "are you crying" Ruffnut snarked as her and her twin brother crept closer to Snotlout

"He looks like he's about to drop dead, Ohh shit, oh I almost feel sorry for the poor bastard."

The rest of the day was mostly uneventful and Snotlouts agony only went so far, astrid still tried to cheer up everyone's moods which still weren't changing.

And hiccup, well as Ullr was walking back to his house, he saw toothless reel back from hiccups touch and flew away into the sky behind the mountain without him, Ullr stared at the lasts place he saw toothless with shock and confusion.

Ullr walked over to hiccup who was still staring up at the sky, "you shouldn't have listened to Tuffnut" Ullr patted Hiccups shoulder softly with a solemn look.
