Chapter 1: Those Girls

I stood looking out at the horizon, my pointed ears relaxed and my green eyes wandering. I kept my hand near my sword on my belt or near my shovel on my back.

My rune-enchanted shovel Duffy had gotten for me. I love her(like a sister).

"PAHHHHGGGGGGGG!" I heard a distant call that sounded like Akira. "Pug!" I turned around and saw Akira had ran up to me panting, her ear tips red and her face and chest covered in dirt and sweat.

"What is it Akira?" I asked holding my friend's shoulders tightly. She caught her breath. "T-Tyler, Duffy, Fizz and I were out loot hunting, for those abandoned camps and stuff." She managed to say.

"A whole squad of decked out armored Dwarves leapt out of the tunnels and ambushed us" she said her voice quivering from running.

"Where are they?" I asked pulling my rune-enchanted shovel off my back gripping it tightly. "By the pond on the west side of the the forest, it's close, come on" she said. I nodded and whistled for my horse. A jet black mare rode up to me and I leapt on the back of it, pulling Akira up so she could ride with me.

She climbed on and I whipped the reins making the horse go. I kicked its sides, making it go faster. I held on tightly, Akira's arms wrapped around me made me feel sexy. (Dont ask)

My horse, Oynx rode as fast as she could I pulled the reins sending Oynx to a halt when I saw the battle.

Akira leapt off and pulled her bow off her back.

She loaded the bow and aimed then sent it flying into the back of a barely-armored dwarf which sent him toppling over.

I gripped onto my shovel tighter and let out a battle cry as I pushed a dwarf off of a short Duffy and slapped him across the face with the shovel. The dwarf let out a pain-filled shriek and swung his sword without looking. I leapt back knocking the sword out of his hand and tripped him, I smashed my foot into his head and stabbed him in the back with my shovel. He screeched then squirmed and at last went limp.

I pulled my shovel out of the bastard's back. Duffy was beside me on her feet by then at full health and nodded a thanks before she ran off to help Fizz fight off two dwarves.

I was too tied up in who to help that I didn't notice a dwarf come up behind me. He grabbed me and strangled me with his sword. I couldn't be think, I struggled. I couldn't breath. Then the wait disappeared and I coils breath again. I turned to see an arrow was in his head. I looked at Akira who winked at me and blew a kiss before she went back to shooting more dwarves and killing them.

"RETREAT!!!" A big dwarvern man yelled and retreated with his buddies back into the tunnels.

This was a war the elves would never forget. And I knew, there would be another war soon to come.
