Chapter 5: The Way Through

(This is a time skipped chapter, the while group had met up at an elderly willow tree that was deep in the Mystic Forest and they are starting their journey to Thorn Berry, a town on the other side of a thorned willow forest.)

Pug POV

I stood at the edge of the hill, wind ruffling my long dark hair. A small flower crown Akira had made me was sewn gently into my hair so it wouldn't fly off.

My pointed ear flicked as I listened closely through the wind. I was listening to the distant cheering of people and the howling of wolves and thumping of the Thornveil Guards thumping as they walked.

"Pug, you coming?" I heard Shadow's voice behind me. She had been watching me listen which made me feel like she was stalking me.

"Coast?" Tyler asked. "Clear" I answered.

He nodded and picked up his sword and put it in his belt. He went over to where Roman was sitting on an elk eating a pie and pushed him off the elk. Roman complained about the pie and.Tyler climbed onto the elf. Roman grumbled and got up climbing onto the back of Fizz's horse and behind Fizz.

Duffy, Akira, Shadow and I let out a small giggle. They looked at us and we stopped.

"What?" Roman said. I smirked. "Your sitting on the horse... backwards" I said. He was sitting facing the horse's tail that flicked irritatingly.

I grinned and went over to Onyx and climbed on the horse while Duffy helped Shadow on to hers and Akira got on her own stallion.

I looked at them they were my army of elves.. and one human... but that didn't matter they were my friends. No one could change that.it was like they were my little army, a piece of me, and my life.

I flicked the reins and Onyx started at a jog. Akira followed then Fizz, then Tyler and last of all Shadow and Duffy followed. We ventured down the path in until we came to an abrupt stop at a thorn barrier.

"This is how we get into Thornveil!?!?" Roman said. He was turned the right the right way around now.

"Yup, tie your horses up by this willow " I said and leapt off my horse and tied her up. The others did the same. I looked up at the dawn-lit sky. "What'd you expect from Thornveil ? A barrier of leaves that we had dog through?" I heard Tyler say to Roman. Roman mumbled some stupid reply then I pulled out my sword and slashed my sword at the thorns. They were thick but broke off easily.

"Nice barrier" I said. "Well what do you expect from your Sharpness IV, Smite III, Knockback II, Thorns X sword?" Shadow said and slashed her sword at the barrier, the thick branches of thorn falling after two chops.

"Why can't we use your shovel?" Tyler asked. Akira slapped him. "ARE YOU CRAZY! THAT SHOVEL IS THE BEST WEAPON WE GOT, besides my now and axe..BUT STILL!" Akira yelled. "Ow? And Okay?" He grumbled. Shadow snorted while Duffy giggled.

We kept chopping through the barrier. My god it was a thick barrier. Why can't barriers be made of soft.. air?

I pushed through the last bits it tore at my arms because I was wearing a shirt sleeve black t shirt and long black leggings, for this Thornveil place, we need lots of black.

I stood at the end of the barrier as the others fought through. They got through right as the thorn barrier grew it's self together again. "Really?" Shadow mumbled then sighed. She put her sword back on belt and other fastened mine beside my shovel on my back. Tyler and Sly were fighting about if Akira needed a protector or not, Sly said yes everyone else said no encluding Akira.

Sly is way to over protective(sorry Sly, but she my Akura! >:I)

I glanced over my shoulder to see a Thornveil guard and 4 nature ents coming toward us. I turned to look at them.

"You are elf, you allowed here" the guard said. "Excuse grammar, I not good with grammar" he added. I nodded and he led me and the rest of us the rest.of the way to Thornveil. It was very... kind especially since he had to deal with Sugar high Duffgar Duffy and Sugar ship name we all ship Duffy with Sugar.
