Ravens POV
I looked up from my hands I was sitting at the dinning table with Flare, Raya, Flare's daughters, and my faction crew. Tyler had stood up. "Raya I need to talk to you, about something in the other room" Tyler said. He forgot I can hear him I thought and smirked. Me and Shadow looked at each other exchanging a smirk. Tyler and Raya left the room and walked outside. Shadow opened the window and they walked all the way to the old well. I pricked my ears listening closely.
"Raya, we have known each other from a long time, and we grew to know each other really well. Like. Really. Well. And I was wondering if you want to be my... girlfriend" Tyler said. I let out a laugh and sat back up perking my ears up and listening again. "Of course." Raya said. There was silence. Cutting through. Then I heard breathing.
"Eww!" I said."I'm not listening anymore" I said squeezing my eyes. "They're a thing and they missed" I said with a look of disgust. "Ewwww!" Squeaked Duffy. Shadow snorted and Akira broke into a laugh. Flare chuckled and the four little girls broke out into giggles and laughter with their mother.
Tyler and Raya came back in and sat at the table. "What was that about?" Flare asked "Just talking about plans to get around Thornsdale more since I don't know the way around good" Tyler said. "Sure." I murmured. Tyler saw the window open and mumbled something then Raya and him went back to sit down. The rest of dinner was in silence besides Willow and Mori chirping about little girl stuff.
Paige finally stood up. Mira, the oldest daughter, age 17(born before Raya was born) looked up "just emptying my plate" the small 13 year old said.
(Mori is 6, Willow is 5, Paige is 13 and Mira is 17)
I looked up from my dinner plate. Mira stood up and Paige slammed her the wooden are down on the table. "YOU ARE NOT MY PROTECTOR I DON'T NEED A STUPID PROTECTOR!" Paige screamed and ran out of the room. Mira sighed and followed Paige out of the kitchen. Flare slammed her fist on the table. "I'm sorry" she muttered and got up following the girls out of the room.
The next morning
I woke up and there was a ringing noise of a doorbell. Raya left the room and went to answer it. There was a deep thundering voice and I heard Raya and I's names. Raya said something then I heard my name being called. I got out of bed. Shadow cast a spell on me making me in my regular clothes and my hair brushed. I yawned as I walked out and stood beside Raya. "Yes?" I said. There was a big man on the door way. He had a smoker in his mouth and a greased shirt with slick hair. He wore jeans and all baseball cap.
"King Rodney and Queen Lore invite you to their daughter princess Robin's wedding it's Princess Robin and Prince Glide" I nodded. "Is Guard Lark attending?" I asked. The guard nodded. And a young man about the age of 19 or so walked through the door. He wore iron armor and had a iron sword tightly held on his belt. "Lark." I said. "Raven" he spoke. For moment there was silence. "Why did you leave. You would've been royalty of Leafenlier" Lark said his yellow his flickering. "I didn't want to be royalty it isn't the life know wanted. I'd rather live a hard life where I work for things than receive it and have be betrothed unlike sister" I said glaring into his eyes. Lark glared at me his eyes blazing like the sun. I stood my ground and didn't flinch when he slammed his word on the wooden threshold. "Tough one aren't you now" he said. "But I won't force you to attend" Lark said. Him and the big guy left and I slammed the door behind them.
"Wait. So if you didn't choose to travel with your friends. You'd be having a wedding with someone when your 20 and you wouldn't know them at all?" Asked Raya. I nodded. "Well. In glad you let royalty behind. Because if you didn't I wouldn't have had an amazing friend like you and possibly would never have met Tyler." She said. "I know you know about us." she added. I Nodded slowly.
"The only thing is...If I haven't chosen this path. Haven't met you. Didn't have that.. that dream. I would Never have met Owen." I said thinking about the black-haired boy with light green eyes like me. To think about it. He hasn't visited me in forever.
I pulled out my phone that Flare got me for my 16th birthday last week. Since she couldn't afford a wagon I got a phone. Nice. I texted Owen "Haven't seen you in a while, want to come with Me, Raya and Tyler to the Market?". I waited and saw it got read. I waited looking at it. I closed me phone and put it in my pocket.
"Let's go to the Markets." I said and leapt onto a rock to look out at the small village called Thornsdale.
