The preteens had now been sitting on the bleachers for a long time. None of them had moved from their spots. Mike looks at his watch impatiently.

Finally, he stands up violently and making El's head falls off his shoulder. He runs out of the gym without saying a word. They look at each other confused. After a few seconds, Mike bursts back into the gym.

"They're gone," he announces.

"What?" Lucas asks, confused.

"Nancy and Jonathan," Mike elaborates. "His car's gone."

"They're probably just sucking face somewhere," Dustin says casually.

"Gross," Lucas frowns.

"Now would be the best time to do that?" Gabby says sarcastically.

"No," Mike says forcefully. "No way."

"Did they go with the chief?" Dustin asks.

"I don't know," Mike snaps, annoyed.

"No," El says, quietly but firmly.

"What?" Mike asks quickly. "Did you see them? Do you know where they went?"

"Yes," El says.

"Where?" Mike asks. "Where did they go?"

"Demogorgon," Gabby says for El. Mike looks at her fearfully. "They're gonna try and kill it."

"Guys, guys, this is crazy! We can't just wait around," Mike says.

"Mike in case you forgot, we're still fugitives,"
Lucas points out. "The bad men are still looking for us."

"Yeah, and we don't even know where your sister is," Dustin adds.

"El and Gabby can find them," Mike says like it's obvious.

"Mike, look at them," Dustin says gesturing to the two girls they all look. "I still think we should stick to the chief's plan."

"Exactly," Lucas says. "We stay here, keep El out of sight, and keep her safe. That's the most important thing, remember? Besides, she's okay. She's with Jonathan."

"Yeah, and she's kind of a badass now, so..." Dustin says, giving Mike a look and then walking away.

"Well, where are you going?" Mike demands. "You just said stick to the plan!"

"I am," Dustin calls back. "I'm just gonna go get some chocolate pudding. I'm telling you, Lunch Lady Phyllis hoards that shit."

"Are you serious?!" Mike exclaims as Lucas helps Gabby up and follows after Dustin.

"El and Gabby need to be recharged!" Dustin explains.

"Found it, I knew she was hoarding it," Dustin says excitedly Gabby watches as Dustin and Lucas grab as much as they can with both hands.
