Chapter 36 - Katherine

The bell finally rang and I rushed out of the class running into someone. I looked up and saw Michael.

"What are you doing here?" I asked adjusting myself.

"I'm here to pick you up, your mom couldn't make it," he said.

"But I came here with Cameron and she knows that," I said.

"Yeah, well I don't want you seeing him so I'm here to take you home," he said pulling my arm.

"Really? You want to do this here," I said loud enough for people to hear.

"Katherine, let's go," he said.

"Kat!" I heard someone yell and I turned around to see Cameron. "Hey, I thought I was taking you home," he said.

"Well, I guess I have to go home with him. He's insisting it but I'll call you," I said and kissed his cheek before walking away with Michael.

"Why did you have to do this now? I always go home with Cameron," I said.

"Because, I always try and come to pick you up but I'm always too late. Today I wasn't late so I'm taking you home," he said and I rolled my eyes getting in his car.

"Why do you hate him so much? You always try and get in my good side and hating Cameron isn't a good way of doing that," I asked.

"Because he is a bad influence and that leads to a bad future. I know dating the bad boys are what teenage girls do but trust me, you'll regret that and I'm just saving you the hurt," he explained.

"But he would never hurt me or disrespect me in any way. You don't know him," I said.

"I don't understand why you couldn't stay with Carter. He wanted to go somewhere with his life," he said.

"I don't feel the same with him than with Cameron. I just don't feel that way about him anymore," I said.

"I just want to be happy and so much has happened that interferes, the only thing that really gets me through life right now is those damn pills," I explained.

"What pills?" He asked.

"I guess mom was worried and took my to the doctors. They prescribed me some pills and it's really helping," I said.

"No one ever told me this," he said.

"Because no one seems to be very happy with you right now besides your stupid family," I snapped.

"Watch it," he pointed a finger.

When we pulled up to the drive way I got out and went straight to my room. I decided to FaceTime Carter since I haven't talked and seen him in a week since he left.

"Hey," he exclaimed once he picked up.

"Hey, what have you been up to?" I asked.

"Oh, nothing really. It's boring here. I wish I can come back already, and I'm behind on so much school work," he groaned.

"Well, that's your fault that you wanted to come down here," I chuckled.

"Well, sorry that's wanted to see my girlfriend but she didn't want to see me," he chuckled and I laughed. We're cool with the whole break up thing and it's not that big of a deal.

"So, I have something to tell you and I've been meaning to tell you this but I never got the chance to," I rambled.

"Ok, just tell me," he chuckled cutting me off. "Just treat me like I'm you gay best friend minus the gay part."

"Ok," I laughed. "I had sex with Cameron," I said and I watched as his eyes went wide. "Yeah I know, it's crazy."

"I remember you telling me that you were going to wait till you were married," he chuckled.

"I was twelve and less horny," I said.

"Did you guys use a condom?" He asked.

"Of course we did, I don't want to be getting pregnant at seventeen," I said.

"Ok," he trailed off. "Are you still taking those pills?" He asked and I nodded.

"I can't wait till I don't have to anymore. They make me feel weak," I groaned.

"I'm sure you'll survive," he said.

"I'm obviously alive now," I laughed.

We talked for awhile until he decided that he needed to get his work done. After that I texted Cameron like I was suppose to after school.

"Hey," I heard someone say and I looked to see my mom at the door.

"Hi," I said sitting up.

"So you really went through with it," she said and I gave her a confused look.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"You and Cameron had sex," she reassured.

"Oh, that. You were eavesdropping. Seriously mom?" I said.

"I wasn't at first. I came to tell you that dinner is ready and the first thing I heard was "Cameron and I had sex". Then you guys started talking about other stuff so I just left," she explained.

"What about dinner? I'm hungry," I said getting up and walking down stairs to the kitchen.

"Warm it up yourself, at least I can watch my show while having dinner in peace without you judging me," she pouted and I laughed.

I put some food on my plate and warmed it up. I grabbed it front he microwave and walked to the living room. I turned on the TV and my mom's show was on.

"Ew," I mumbled to myself and changed the channel. I stuffed my mouth with food as I finally found something to watch.

"Did you guys use a condom?" Mom asked sitting on the opposite end of the couch.

"Really mom? I'm eating," I exclaimed.

"Well did you? I don't want to be a grandmother just yet," she said and I laughed.

"Yes we did," I said stuffing my face.

"I'm ok with you guys being intimate but just be very careful," she said.

"Ok mom, way to make things awkward," I said and turned my attention back on the TV.

After I finished eating I washed the dishes and began getting ready for bed. I walked back from the bathroom and plopped down on my bed.

"God, I love you bed," I said snuggling into the warm softness of the sheets.

I got under the covers and plugged my phone in getting ready to go to bed. My phone buzzed and I groaned before checking it.

From Cam: what took you so long to finally text me?

To Cam: I texted you awhile ago, what took you so long to text me back?

From Cam: sorry I was a little busy and I didn't see it

To Cam: what were you doing?

From Cam: your dad had the nerve to show up at my house and talk to my mom about my behavior and how it's influencing his daughter

To Cam: He is not my dad

From Cam: sorry

To Cam: I'll talk to you later I'm tired
