I was the first to arrive at the school on Monday morning. My legs were full of goosebumps, because of the morning air and my short skit wasn't helping either. The sound that the heels of my shoe made while dropping to the floor, followed me through the building.
The door of the library should be closed, but my hands easily pushed down the handle. I remembered clearly that I closed it as I did every day. I pushed it open, keeping the breath in my lungs. Books on the floor blocked the way for me to go inside. Everyone of them laid on the floor around the counter. Little noises came from the back of the room. Jumping through the books I ran inside, looking into every aisle, searching for anyone.
Five people were lying on the floor surrounded by books. They weren't totally unfamiliar to me, they were everywhere in the school, but I could not tell their names. Expect the black haired, tattooed boy and the girl laying on his chest. She looked peaceful, beautiful. Her black hair laid around her face in waves, her lipstick was smudged on around her lips, her jacket laid on her body covering her. Max held her in a way that made my stomach clench, all protective. I walked to them pushing their body with my leg.
"Wake up." I said, but I got no answer. "Wake up!" I yelled at them.
"Shit! What the fuck is that?" I heard a guy from behind me, but I didn't pay attention.
Her long lashes started to move as she opened her eyes. She looked at me with total confusion.
"Wake up Danielle!" I yelled at her. I pushed on Max too, who opened their eyes and sat up after Danielle.
"Dan, shut her up please." Someone asked from behind me.
"What happened to this place?"
"We just had some fun." She sat upletting the jacked fall from her, revealing the black crop-top and the gray pants.
"Yeah, we just read some books."
"How dare you come to school on the weekend and do this?" I looked around. The three boys looked as muscular as Max. They all were in the kick-box team. "I'm telling this to the principal." I wanted to walk away, but fingers wrapped around my wrist.
"Wait." Danielle asked. "Don't be a bitch. We will fix this."
"No, you all broke rules. At least 4. Let me go." I wanted to break away, but she was stronger.
"Guys, go I'm dealing with her." She looked at the boys around us, while I still tried to break free.
"We're not leaving you here. This,"Max pointed at me, "will tell the principal and you're gonna get in trouble."
"Exactly, I'm gonna tell everything." I told him.
"Seriously, go. If we all stay we all get in trouble, if I stay I'm getting in trouble. The coach will kick you out from the team for a while, but he won't kick me. He knows my dad."
The boys looked at each other, considering what to do.
"Shit, alright."
"Let me go Danielle." I told her when we were the only ones in the room.
"Can't you be nice just once and not get us in trouble? Can't you be a little different from your mother? Being a bitch is in your genes?" She could barely finish her sentence, because of my hand that landed on her face. She was surprised enough to let my wrist go, and with the new opportunity I ran to the principal's office.
I tried to avoid stepping on the books on the floor. I heard Danielle yelling after me, and when it was clear that I had no intention to stop, she started to race after me. She was an athlete, she was stronger and faster than me, but I used the little advantage I had. Fortunately the principal stepped into the school at the same time as I stepped out of the library.
