Willa POV

All I could see was bright lights fluttering in my eyes, the sound of a machine next to me and the hustle of bustle of people in surrounding rooms. Was I dead ?

Panicking I began to feel around me, the sheets of the bed now being clasped in my grip. "H-hello?" I croaked but my voice was barely audible.

"Oh my goodness you're awake" a familiar voice sounded.

Instant relief washed over me, my eyes meeting with Evan's. Evan was reading a book and smiling softly at me. "Do you want a drink?"

I nodded "please"

Evan passed me a cup of water which I hammered down my throat, I was so dehydrated that it felt like I could drink a whole bucket. "How long have I been here for?"

Evan tightened his lips in a straight line "you've been unconscious for a few days now, your body is very weak and tired. The doctors had to pump you with fluids"

Gulping back saliva I looked around, seeing a needle in my vein which was attached to an IV. "What about Alex?"

"Don't worry about him, he won't be bothering anyone for a very long time"

"Thank goodness... and Noah?"

"Noah is fine, he got beat up pretty badly but the hospital sent him away with some painkillers" Evan reassured

I nodded "that's good to hear- is he in the hospital right now?"

Evan shook his head "no, he is home right now but he has been waiting for you to wake up since you've been here; typically you do the day he goes home"

I laughed lightly but instantly winced from the pain in my ribcage. "Oh yeah- one of your ribs is fractured. So you're going to have to be careful"

Clutching the area I stifled back tears "that must of been from last week" I then took notice of my wrist which was in a cast. "And he broke my wrist..."

Evan lowered his gaze "if I had known I would of come and got you- I'm so sorry I failed you"

"Evan stop blaming yourself. You never failed me. You could never fail me"

The door swung open revealing a doctor with slicked back dirty blonde hair and small rimmed glasses. "Ah- Miss Quinn. It's great to see you awake"

I smiled softly "thank you doctor, for helping me"

"No need to thank us Willa. How are you feeling ?"

"I'm okay, just in pain" I admitted, the pain now soaring all over my body. "That would be due to the pain medication, I will get you some more. Not to worry"

"I'm sorry to mention this so soon but the police would like to talk with you"

"That's fine doctor, I'm happy to talk with them" I stated. "Anything to get that asshole into prison indefinitely"

The doctor nodded "I'll let them know you're ready to talk. But before I do there is some people wanting to see you. Your mother, father and siblings"

My face lit up instantly, I hadn't seen them for so long which made me instantly begin to sob. My heart hurting incredibly "l-let them in please"

In ran over my little brother and sister who immediately tackled into me, giving me a massive hug. Even though it hurt I didn't say anything and became the big, brave sister they knew.

"Oh my goodness Willa, look at you" My mother cried as she made her way to my bedside. "I'm so so sorry"

I frowned "please mum, don't say sorry"

Dad had tears running down his face which he quickly wiped away "my baby, my poor baby"

"I'm going to grab a drink and leave you alone together. Is there anything you need?" Evan asked everyone as he placed his hands into his trouser pockets.

We all shook our heads "no thank you Evan, thank you for looking after my daughter" Mother said earnestly.

"Sissy, what happened?" My brother Kyle asked softly, his little face scrunching up in disdain. "You look hurt"

I smiled lightly, running a hand through his curly hair. "I'm fine Kye, thank you baby. I fell over"

Kyle snuggled into me "does this mean you're coming home ?"

Biting my lower lip I looked towards mum and dad sheepishly and then back to my brother. "No baby, I'm an adult now. I don't need to live with mummy and daddy"

"But why can't you live with us for?" Layla cried with puffed cheeks; her attitude shining through which made me chuckle.

"Because Layla, I have my own home now"

"Is that with the random guy?" Layla queried with a smirk. "He is handsome sissy"

Layla and Kyle were twins, born on the same night fifteen minutes apart with Layla being born first. Both of them now age six.

Blushing lightly I turned away "he isn't too bad I guess"

"Does that mean he is our family?" Kyle beamed, he had always wanted an older brother figure. "That would be so cool!"

I frowned "we are friends Kyle, I'm sorry to disappoint"

Mother snatched a look towards me with a grin "now I've seen boys look at girls for many years Willa, he is looking at you like he loves you"

"When you were unconscious he never left your side, he would keep his eyes open even when his body demanded he sleep. He truly loves you. I can tell"

Surprised by what she told me I felt my heart quicken in response, butterflies swarming in the pit of my stomach crazily. "He doesn't love me mum, he just cares about me is all"

"You'll soon see, I'll bet on it. That boy is devoted to you my dear. And he isn't bad to look at either"

"Mum!" I cried, clutching my face with my hands. "You're almost sixty, stop"

Mother sat on the edge of my bed, the bed now becoming very overcrowded with everyone sat on it. "Hey, you got your good taste from me. Regardless of how old I may be"

Dad scoffed and stepped closer to us, a small blush on his cheeks from the random confidence boost.

"Mum.. have you seen dad?" I joked giving him a teasing eye. Dad frowned instantly and that blush got replaced with annoyance. "What's so bad about me, I was good looking back in my day. Comparable to that boy"

Pursing my lips together I shook my head "whatever you say dad, I'm sure mum knows better than I do"
