A/N:  I am getting close to the end of the school year.  I'm so excited.  That means that I'll be able to throw more energy into my writing.  :-)  I have also downloaded the Wattpad app onto my Android.  Once I figure out how to, I may begin writing through that, also.  I'm not sure, though.  It seems like it would take too long.  Anyway, I hope you guys are enjoying my story.  Sadly, the amount of people reading this story has dwindled down dramatically.  I would love to have more readers.

I finally made it to the meadow.  I could faintly smell Edward, but it seems as if he hasn't been here in a while.  Instead of waiting in the meadow, I decide to track Edward's scent.  After about an hour of tracking his, and a few others, scent, I came upon a house.  The house was at least a hundred years old.  It was enormous!  The exterior walls were white-washed.  I heard a river near by and began walking towards it.  Around the three-story mansion, I saw a wide river.

For as large and emaculate it appeared, it also appeared to have been abandoned.  I had no doubt that this was Edward's home.  I could still smell his scent heavily in the area, so it was possible that he still came around. I continued to explore the area.  I even glanced in the windows to see the interior.  All the furniture was draped with cloth to prevent dust.

I smelled her before she attacked me.  "Who are you?" she demanded.  She was beautiful, but not my type.  She was tall and thin.  Pale, like all vampires.  Her hair was dark brown and ran all the way down her waist.  Her eyes were dark brown, almost black.  She smelled like Edward, which gave me hope.  I couldn't tell if she was a friend or foe, so I took the risk.

"I came here looking for Edward.  I met him about eight years ago."  I told her.  I made certain that I kept a neutral stance.  The girl kept her offensive stance as she replied, "Who are you?  What is your name?  Why are you looking for Edward?"  The way she said his name, I knew that she was a friend of Edwards.

"My name if Fred.  As I mentioned, I met him many years ago, up in the meadow.  I was part of a bad coven of vampires.  After meeting him, I decided that I would go my own way instead of going into battle.  I was just wanting to connect with him, maybe join his coven if they will have me."

The girl relaxed just slightly.  She smelled vaguely familiar.  She replied, "Edward is my husband.  My name is Bella.  If you'll stay here, I'll go get him.  If you follow me, I will not hesitate to kill you." I hadn't been planning on following her, but the venom in her words kept me even more grounded.

I was sitting by the river thinking of Syd when I heard them walk up.  I stood up to meet them and was surprised to see two others with them.  Besides Edward and Bella, there was a teenage girl that looked about Syd's age walking side-by-side a Quileute boy.  He smelled kinda like the girl I ran into.

"That was Leah that you ran into," replied Edward.  I had forgotten that he could read minds.  "It's nice to see you again, Fred.  I see you have taken well to our vegetarian diet."  I walked up towards them, making sure I didn't come off as threatening.  "Edward, it's nice to see you again as well."  Suddenly, I couldn't ask to join them.  It seemed rude and intruding.

"Allow me to introduce you to some of my family.  You have already met my wife, Bella.  She was about to hunt when she stumbled upon you.  This is our daughter, Renesmee, and her boyfriend, Jacob."  Edward cringed when he said the word boyfriend.  Then it hit me.  He said our daughter.  She didn't look like a vampire.  It made me think of Syd.

"Who's Syd?"  Edward asked.  "Syd is my son," I replied.  In my mind, I told Edward the story.  I also told him that Syd and Bree were beginning to become restless and wanted to be around more people.  "Excuse me while I talk to Bella,"  Edward said.

Renesmee and Jacob walked closer to me.  Jacob seemed to have placed himself between Renesmee and me, which was okay with me.  I wanted nothing else but to be friendly.  The wind blew Jacob's scent closer to me.  He didn't exactly smell like Leah, but they did have something in common.  They both smelled slightly like dogs.  In fact, I don't remember Leah smelling as repulsive as Jacob does.

"My name is Renesmee, as you have already been told," said Edward's daughter.  She was pretty.  She had curly reddish-brown hair that fell just past her shoulders.  "So you have a son?  Did you create him?"  About that time, Edward and Bella walked back to us.

"Where are you currently living, Fred?" asked Bella.  After I told her, she replied, "It would be faster for you guys to run, but since the sun will be rising soon you should probably take a car.  Edward is going to drive you out to get Syd and Bree.  You guys are welcome to stay with us as long as needed."

Edward and I made it to the cottage at around 5 AM.  Syd was still sleeping.  Bree looked up from her book when I walked in with Edward.  "Bree, this is Edward Cullen.  He has agreed to allow us to stay with his cov... family as long as we need to."  I stumbled over the word coven because Edward had explained to me that he had a family.  "A coven is too impersonal.  Everyone in our household is considered family.  Even that mutt of a boyfriend my daughter has."

As Bree and I packed our meager belongings, Syd stumbled into the room.  He blinked sleepily at us.  "Dad, you're back!"  He exclaimed finally.  I introduced him to Edward as well and explained to him the situation.  "There are a few ground rules surrounding our circumstances.  In order to be part of the Cullen family, all teenage-looking body must be enrolled in school.  Also, we must continue what they call a vegetarian diet.  It shouldn't be too hard.  No harm should come to any human.  Period."  After I explained the house rules, Syd went to his room to pack his belongings.

At around 7 AM, we were packed and headed back to our new home, Forks, WA.
