My name is Fred Fletcher. I am a student at Seattle's Cornish College of the Arts. My parents died when I was twelve. They were my only relatives. From the moment they passed away, I was a ward of the state of Washington. The last home I was fostered into was a small home in the outskirts of Seattle. The house is a three bedroom, but my foster parents had three children of their own, plus three other foster children. I slept on a sleeping bag in the living room. My parents and I lived in the wonderful Sudden Valley community. I always loved it there. We were only about an hour and a half away from Vancouver. We always went to Vancouver for our vacations. It is my peaceful getaway. I would buy bus tickets up there every once in a blue moon to get away from the foster house.
When I turned 18, I left the foster home and found a home in Seattle. It was one of those homes that you could live there for free, as long as you did work around the house. They called themselves freegans. I got a job at a local coffee shop and began saving up. I got my GED on my nineteenth birthday. Since I was able to save most of the money I earned at the coffee shop, I enrolled at Cornish on my 22nd birthday. I am now majoring in art history.
I know, art history is such a boring topic. I'm always told that. Thing is, I prefer to be left alone anyway. I would rather lock myself up in my room and study the brush strokes of Da Vinci than conversate with people. If you saw me, then you'd think it would be hard to ignore me. I'm tall, 6'2", with strong Norwegian traits of thick, wavy blonde hair and deep, crystal blue eyes. My name is Norwegian for peaceful ruler. Kinda makes sense because I'm a peaceful person. From what I've read, women should be swooning over me. Thankfully, they don't even notice me. I guess that would be a bad thing if I wanted to be social with women, but I like to keep to myself and my studies.
I am having to take a break from the spring semester. I need to take that time to work and save up for the final few semesters I have. I doubt my professors would even notice I've taken the time off. They don't like to communicate with me unless it's school related. There are times that I wonder if they even see me in class. I admit, sometimes that's annoying, but as long as I get credit for my work then everything's fine.
I have a busy week at the coffee shop. Tomorrow is the first day of the Spring term. There will be alot of traffic from returning students to add to the normal commuter traffic. I will be working many doubles this week. Tomorrow, I won't be getting off until after 1AM. Normally, I wouldn't care too much about the time. Lately, however, there have been many missing people and a few murders. They are also saying it could be animal attacks.
