It was silent.

I saw these guys interview my dad through a one-sided glass splitting us apart.

My mom didn't wanna see him, she told the investigators she only wanted to see him in a orange suit or dead, which honestly I couldn't blame her.

Was it bad that I wanted him to go to prison just because of the things I heard prisoners did to child molesters, especially when they found out it was their own child they touched.

"I wanna see my daughter, just once before I go in" I heard the raspy voice come out his mouth through the speaker that was implanted in the room I was in so I could hear what was going on in the other room.

One of the investigator leaned towards me and asked if I agreed to let him see me.

What do I say?

Yes?
No?

"Let's just get this over with" I mumbled to the guy as he lead me to the room my 'dad' was in. I saw the investigator come out the room, he told me I could go in whenever I felt comfortable.

I honestly didn't feel the slightest bit comfortable, but something inside me kept pushing me to go in the room.

"Just this once and then his gone" I mumbled to myself.

I put my hand on the door knob and left it there taking a couple of breaths. Once I exhaled, I twisted the door knob and opened the door slowly. As his face appeared in in front of me, my stomach started to turn.

I saw his red puffy eyes widen as he saw me.

"Your so big" he said standing up. I close the door behind me cautiously taking a few steps. I kept walking on the edges of the wall trying to stay as far away from where he was.

"How've you been?" He asked.

So many things were going through my mind that I didn't have the courage to speak.

"How's your mom?" He asked completely ignoring the other question he asked.

"Good" I whispered.

"So you speak?" He asked, curving his lips a little. It honestly disgusted me.

"So you exist?" I snapped.

He chuckled, a chuckle that made me boil inside.

"That's no way to speak to your father"

Soon as those words left his mouth, I flipped.

"Your not my father. Your a monster, a sick monster, that is legally my father, but trust and believe you are dead to me and are definitely no father to me either" I snapped.

He stood quiet for what felt like forever, the whole situation felt like forever until he spoke, "I deserve that."

"You deserve to be dead!" I shouted.

I'm pretty sure I shouted loud enough because the next thing I know, one of the investigators came in.

"I think that's enough" he said putting his hand on the middle of my back, guiding me out.

"I think so to" I said starring into the man who was handcuffed to the table. I wanted to leave and forget about this place. I never want to come back.

After I left the room, I walked down the hall looking for my mom. The investigator I was walking with, was telling me how sorry he was for what I've been through.

I honestly didn't want his pitty, if I wanted any then I would tell the whole world about my dad.

When I found my mom, she was filling out some paper work and talking to some people. After she noticed me she hugged me and whispered that it was all going be over. Then she told me I could wait in the car until she was done.

As I waited in the car the only thing that ran through my mind was... I finally got to meet the monster in person. After so many years of the same face I remembered from when I was little, I now have a newer picture implanted in my head.

He had stubble and brown messy frizzy hair.

I slowly started to fall asleep in my seat until I felt my phone vibrate that scared me a little. I looked at it and the caller ID said

Holly

I quickly picked up the phone.

"OH my god! Where were you today? I waited for you in science and at lunch" she explained with a relieved yet scared voice.

"You won't guess where I'm at"

"Mall? House? Doctors? JAIL! OMG what'd you do?" She said getting herself more anxious with her own suggestions.

"I'm in the investigation department"

"Ashlynn, why?" She gasped in the phone.

"They found my dad..." I said making myself even more surprise that I was saying those words. I honestly thought the day they would find him, he would be dead.

"No way! Are you okay?" She asked a little concerned.

"Kind of... I mean I got to speak to him"
I then explained to her what happened and what I said, leaving nothing behind.

"I'm proud of you, you didn't even cry in front of him. I mean I would've" she explained.

"I know you would" I said feeling a tear fall down my face. Everything was hitting me at once, they found him and now his gone!

My mom then entered the car and I said bye to Holly. We stood there in silence while the engine was turned on.

"Were free, were finally free" my mom suddenly said with her hands tightened on the wheel and her head facing the ceiling of the car.

"I know"

"Honey it's all over, his gone... Forever" she explained. Honestly hearing her say that made a weight lift off my chest. It's like I could finally breath again, talk again, live again.

He was gone. He was finally gone.
