~Ashlynn's POV~
Out of all the people who could've walked in on us, it had to be Jack. It could've been my own father I would've been okay with it, but Jack... really!? The second I made eye contact with him he dropped what ever he had in his hand and walked off.
"Jack...." I called after him. Cameron stayed behind and honestly, it was for the best, "JACK!" I said getting a hold of his arm before he was able to run down stairs.
"You know what, fuck you! Seriously, I've tried everything to get you to be- I've tried everything to not be this heartbreaker you see me as. Now it's like, the less I become one, the more you do"
And with that he rushed down the stairs. I went after him until I heard a voice call me.
"Ashlynn, leave him, he needs to calm down" Cameron spoke softly.
"His-his my best friend" I said with a hiccup. Tears were starting to form. Jack was right about one thing, he was starting to become less of a douche and I was so blind sided to see it. So I ignored Cameron's words and I went outside and ran after him. What happened with Cameron was a one time thing, I wasn't gonna let a one time thing ruin our friendship.
"Jack!" I shouted out of breath.
"Ashlynn leave me now!" He shouted, he kept walking not even bothering to turn around and face me.
"STOP! I'm not gonna just let you walk away from me"
"watch me" he said harshly, I could almost feel the hatred in his tone of voice."
"Jack"
"WHAT!" He said stopping in his tracks.
I had his attention, what do I say? Fuck.
"Prom is one month away. Please don't let this ruin our night." I blurted out.
Why the hell would I bring up prom in all moments?
"I don't fucking care." He said with a forced laugh.
"I still want you to be my date" I said softly. I was slowly walking towards him. But the next thing he said, made me stop dead in my tracks.
"I'm taking Amanda"

Really short chapter. Literally less than 400 words but next chapter there's gonna be a reveal of the prom theme and yada yada yada.
