Chapter 9

I finally wake up to the obnoxious buzzing of my phone at 6 am.

"Ugh...." I roll out of bed and commence getting ready. I give Rudey enough water and food to get him through until Monday (just in case), and grab my bag of clothes and a bagel on my way out the door.

By the time 6:30 rolled around, I was using my key to get into the arcade. I was greeted by an unexpected sight.

"Ohoho my god." I was in shock. There were beer bottles and cans strewn across the counter and floor. Kelly, Boss, Blondie, Hiro, Kenshi, En and Takuto were curled up in multiple places among the mess. En was actually on the motorbike for that racing game and I could hear Takuto mumbling,"Pork noodles......"

Riki comes out from HQ, followed by Kaylee. He seems tired.

"We've got most of what we need loaded in the vans (which were parked in the alley). When I came back by last night, they were like this, so I just turned out the lights and locked up. Kaylee here let me in this morning. She was the only one up."

I look at Kaylee. "Did Kelly break out the-"

Kaylee is pointing at a mason jar half full of clear liquid.

"What is that by the way?" Riki asks me. "Kelly brought it out from HQ just as I was leaving yesterday."

"That? Well, that is moonshine. Pure distilled liquor." I take off the lid and take a whiff. *cough cough* "Ugh.... It's not even the flavored stuff either. That is straight moonshine. That shit can get even the hardcore alcoholics drunker than a skunk and twice as smelly." [By the way folks, if you play Red Dead Redemption {all rights go to Rockstar Games} DRUNKER THAN A SKUNK AND TWICE AS SMELLY is a cheat code. It makes the character act drunk. ;)]

"Damn. No wonder they are all passed out. How come you aren't still passed out with them?" He looks to Kaylee. She makes the Ew face and shakes her head.

"Kaylee doesn't usually drink anything heavier than beer. She was out probably because she fell asleep." I elaborate further, and she nods, looking at Riki.

"Well, we better get them up." Riki goes to shake Boss, who just rolls back over.

"Hold on a minute." I go behind the counter and reach into one of the drawers. "Hehe. Cover your ears you two." I pull out an airhorn and face the drunks and press the button.

"AAAHHHH!!!!!" Everyone screams and En falls off the bike. Well, almost everyone. Takuto is still balled up in a ball on the floor.

"What the hell was THAT?!" Kenshi quickly stands, offering a hand to Blondie as he asks. I see Hiro's head pop out from behind one of the arcade games as En picks himself up from off the floor. Kelly is sitting on the floor Indian-style and holding her head like it's throbbing. Boss is standing in a Kudo style fighting stance.

Riki, Kaylee, and I burst out laughing.

"That *gasp* was your *giggle* wake up call!" I laugh as I try to answer Kenshi. Kaylee offers me a fist and I bump it with my own.

Kelly finally stands. "What time is it?" She looks at me with bloodshot eyes. I check the clock. "About 6:45." I walk over to Takuto and nudge him with my foot. "Takuto...Takuto...TAKUTO WE ARE OUT OF PORK NOODLES!" He sits up and looks up at me glaring. "Sorry, you can sleep in the van but we've got to go. Like now." I offer him my hand and pull him up.

We finish loading the vans and head out. Kelly, Takuto, Riki, En, and myself in one van, with me driving and Blondie, Kenshi, Hiro, Boss, and Kaylee in another, with Blondie (the least hungover of all of them) driving.
