Chapter 24

I hand the note to Kelly and look around the damaged room. Takuto and En read over her shoulder.

She looks up at me from the note and we lock eyes. "What are we-" She cuts off as I sharply look down.

I pick up a shard of glass from the window and study it, accidentally slicing my index finger. I don't flinch. I just watch the dark red blood roll down into my palm, as all three of them watch with wide eyes. I look back up at them and drop the shard, clenching my fist, staining my hand blood red.

"We....are getting them back." I say calmly and quietly, much to calmly and quietly. The three of them actually look scared as I open my palm and stare at the painted flesh.

We clean up the room as best we can. Takuto and En will be staying in the same room. Takuto was able to get into Boss' and Hiro's room and brought all of their stuff into the one he's sharing with En. Kelly got all of her and Kaylee's stuff and put it in the room that I shared with Riki.

Takuto and En come over as we bring in the last bag.

"Have you two been able to track them?" I inquire when I see bags beneath both of their eyes.

"Nothing. Electronically- they are off the map. We don't even have anything on security cameras or on street cameras." En answers, looking ashamed.

"So the only thing we have to go on is the note." Kelly says aloud what we all are thinking. "But if we do as it says, it's sure to be a trap."

"What choice do we have?" Takuto and I answer at the same time, stunning ourselves.

"It's the only thing we have. And if they can't trace them," I motion towards the boys, "No one can. So trap or not, we have to go." I speak firmly, leaving no room for discussion. Kelly I'm sorry, but I'm taking control of this.

"Guys get some rest. That's all we can do until this evening." I look out the window as the first rays of light begin to peak from the horizon, barely illuminating the city and far-off ocean.

Takuto drags a broken En out of the room. The fact that Samantha is in danger and he can't do anything about it is slowly killing him.

When the door shuts, Kelly falls face-first on to bed, out like a light despite the stress. I follow her example after washing my hand and changing into my pajama bottoms and one of Riki's shirts, and curl up on the bed he and I shared for a short time. His lingering scent drags me off into a restless sleep.

When I woke up, I saw that it was 5:30. I bury my face into the pillow and sigh deeply. I'm coming Riki. I want lose you again.

I sit up and change into my mission clothes. A dark navy blue tank with a simple black leather jacket. I have on a pair of black straight leg jeans with a few tears around the knees and simple black combat boots. I pull my hair into a ponytail, the colored tips hanging about halfway down my back.

"C'mon Kelly." I wake her up and she starts getting dressed in her mission clothes- a black long-sleeve and black skinny jeans, with black and grey checkered Vans. While she's doing that I gather everything together and get ready to leave, setting the room keys we have on the bed. We came under false names and Takuto and En scrambled the videos so we shouldn't have to worry about being IDed.

By the time I'm done and Kelly's tying her Vans, there is a knock on the door. After checking, Kelly lets in Takuto and En. Takuto is in his mission clothes, and En is wearing dark blue jeans and a black hoodie with black Nikes.

"Kelly, Takuto, you two are staying in the van."

"Why?!"

I ignore him. "Kelly you drop me and En off a mile from the place, we can walk."

"No. Dammit Alaina why?!"

"Because Takuto I need people on the outside. Kelly has connections and I'd like at least one electronically gifted genius out. The only way I could stop En is to kill him so he's coming."

Takuto falls silent and glares at the floor.

"I know you're pissed, but we need all the help we can get."

He just nods but doesn't look up.

"Ready?"

"Ready."

We walk out to the van and head towards the mansion.
