Chapter 19

"Ok it's time to get down to business." Kelly says and the meeting begins.

We all find seats around the room. Riki is propped up against the kitchen counter in the room, and he pulls me to him, his chest against my back, and his arms around my waist. I'm a little shocked and I can feel heat crawl up into cheeks. He was never this clingy. Usually he was good with just an arm around me or me being in arms reach, unless he was drunk. I feel him put his chin on my head and I put my hands over his and he intertwined out fingers.

"Ok. Tonight we need someone to do a little recon. You'll have to enter the building and check the possible escape routes, the room where the action is supposed to be held and the possible basement. Takuto and En both will be assisting whoever goes." Boss runs over what is needed for tonight.

"Who do you plan on sending?" Blondie asks. I'm assuming you or Hiro genius. Hello, masters of disguises. I bite my tongue.

"Well......" Kelly looks down and then straight at me. "Honestly I want Alaina to go."

"Why me?" I squeak out. This is not my forte.

"It's because you can get along with anyone. You're likable and you can move between high and low class easily. You have and make friends everywhere. We need someone who is able to go in and make friends quickly and find out things. No offense to Sam, but she-"

"I have a high class personality that won't work in this situation." Blondie stops her and looks at me, smiling. "I agree. You should go."

I nod. "What am I going in as?" I can feel Riki's arms tighten around me when I agree. I squeeze his hand gently with my own, hopefully reassuring him.

Kelly relaxes and smiles. "You're going in as a maid. You'll be 'cleaning' and listening for info. Maids-"

"Are the best source of info. They are there all the time and usually in the background. No one ever thinks about them and they overhear a lot." I finish.

"Yes. Takuto and En will guide you through the rooms and keep you out of way. Just do what the head maid says and check the areas as you go and you'll be fine. Samantha's going to help you dress the part." Uh-oh...

Samantha pulls me from Riki's arms and drags me towards the door. He stands there, looking helpless.

"S-s-Samantha?" She stops and looks at me. "Um....Let's keep it E for everyone. Please." Everyone laughs at me.

"Well. I wouldn't mind a little rated R." Riki says with a devilish smirk. That just makes it worse. Hiro and Kelly are rolling by now, while Takuto is gagging.

"Sh-Shut up!" I'm blushing as I drag Samantha out of the room. She takes me to hers to get me ready.

After about an hour of trying on clothes and me vetoing many 'outfits' more like lingerie, we finally settle on one. It's a blue button-up with a black skirt and black slip-on flats. It kind of reminds me of some of Rosario's get-ups on Will and Grace. It just flatters my figure a little more. She plays with my hair and after a while, finally manages to put it up in a tight bun, making my hair look solid black, and hiding my colored tips. Blondie then applies very light makeup, but it has the desired effect. I look like a different person all together and could pass as a well-paid maid. As I looked in the mirror, Blondie suddenly got very serious.

"I'm glad that you're happy.....But are you sure that you can trust him?"

"Sam-"

"I know you loved him and you won't talk about why you two broke it off in the first place, but it must have been bad. I'm just wondering if you can trust him and if you're rushing into things?" She looks at the ring on my finger.

"Samantha. Sis, I'm happy with this and....I plan on taking it slow with him. I'm glad that you're happy for and I'm happy for you too. I believe that I can trust him and I never stopped loving him." I pull her into a hug. "Thank you." She remains silent but hugs me back.

"C'mon. Let's get you back to your future hubby." We head back to Kelly's hotel room.
