When Riki awakens it's about 5:30. I'm laying there just stroking his head, completely zoned out, not really even thinking of anything, just staring at the ceiling fan.

"Hello beautiful." He whispers in my ear.

"Hey there handsome. Sleep well?" I smile and turn to look at him.

"Mhm." He buries his face in my neck. I put my face in his hair, wrapping my arms tightly around him. He then does the same, pulling me even closer to him, and I smile into his hair.

I pull back, and he looks up in confusion.

"Riki." I won't look him in the eye.

"What's wrong?"

"What," I start, my voice shaking slightly, "what does this mean for us?"

His eyes soften. "That we love each other."

"There was never any doubt.....for either of us I can see now....But....Argh, I don't know how to put this?" I sigh looking away.

"Are we just gonna pick up from where we left off or are we gonna start over?" He turns my face back towards his gently, forcing me to look into his eyes. Those blue-tinted grey eyes that have always seen into my soul.

"Yea...." I give him a half-hearted smile.

"Alaina. I don't know what this means or what's gonna happen. But I do know that I love you and that I'm never letting you go. If you want to start over, we can start over. If you want to continue from we left off, we can pick it right back up. Or if you just want to see how it goes, I'm fine with that. I love you and that's never going to change." He gently kisses me.

"Mmm.....Riki," I look up at him, tears in my eyes. "I love you too. I....I want us to be together."

He smiles and reaches over to the bedside table. He picks up the chain and ring. He takes the ring off and holds out to me.

"Alaina... Will you marry me, again?"

"......." What do I want?
