That evening, Steve and the group had headed out to intercept their target that they'd been tracking for the last couple of days, now feeling confident that they could strike easily than they could have done before.
Tess wasn't sure just what goods they'd be acquiring. It could be anything from money, valuable stones that had been mined, right down to cattle rustling. All she knew was that she needed to stay behind with Sarah.

A knock came at their door late into the evening and both women looked at one another, before Tess went to open it, one hand on her gun just incase.

"It's me". Nat now swept in and closed the door behind her. "We have a problem".

"What kind?" Tess asked.

"Walker kind. He's caught wind that something's going on and is about to head out for a 'patrol'. I'm sure he saw the others earlier, but they've never been that stupid enough as to be caught so easily. He's been watching us. It's obvious".

Tess nodded. "Doesn't surprise me. Has he ridden out yet?"

"He's about to, his deputy Lemar came back a short while ago...I think they may be going to arrest the others".

"Not on my watch" Tess said, making sure her gun was fully loaded and making for the door. "Steve's gonna hate me for what I'm about to do, but if it stops Walker and his deputy from uncovering what we do, it's worth it".

Sarah looked at her. "Just what are you planning on doing Tess?"

"Nothing ladylike that's for sure".

She walked quickly out of the home and in the direction of town. The usual faces were out and as she came closer to the Sheriff's office, she saw Walker and Lemar standing outside.

"Time to switch on the Rumlow charm". She muttered to herself and now faked staggering and swaying from side to side, humming happily to herself as she pretended to have just come from the saloon.

Lemar now nudged John who caught sight of Tess in the middle of the street. "John...ain't that Roger's wife?" He frowned as Tess 'stumbled'.

Walker sighed. "Sure is...I'll go see what she's doing out and about at this time, then we'll deliver her back and go see what her husband's up to". He came down the steps and out towards Tess. "Mrs Rogers? You alright?" He called as she now swayed closer.

"Sheriiiiiif! Well ain't you a sight for sore eyes!" Tess now slurred and deliberalty fell into him.

"Woah, watch yourself...are you alright?"

"Mhmmm, jus...been at the sloooooon...I like a good ol' drink don't you?" She now looked up at him. "I ever tell you that you're much nicer to look at than my husband?"

If he wasn't convinced by her act then the game was up, and ultimately so would her life as well as Steve's and the rest of the gang.

Walker chuckled. "And where's your husband?"

"Home...he don't give a shit what I do, can't control me..." She mumbled and now smiled drunkenly at him "But you? You look like a man who could..." now toying with his badge and looking up at him from under her lashes.

"Let's get you home".

"No!" She snapped, knowing that in order for Steve to make it back unnoticed, she'd need to keep Walker busy.

So Tess Rogers was about to do what she did best.

Cause a hell of a scene...

"No! I don't wanna go baaaaack! I wanna drink! Come drink me...I mean with me!" She giggled. "Although I don't think you'd mind a bit of me either way?" Lemar now came down to join them. "Threesome eh? I ain't tried it before but there's a first for everything..."
