The rest of the day sucked for Stiles, he waited impatiently as he watched Ryan, with his smug little face and grim little hands all over his girlfriend. The guy even had the audacity to sit with them at lunch, watching Stiles gloatingly like he was daring him to say something but he knew he couldn't. Despite it, Stiles didn't make it easy for him, he tried his best to keep them apart. He got Malia to sit in between them at lunch and would talk over Ryan any chance he could, the pack didn't stop him of course, they knew the truth. When the last bell rang, he practically rushed Lydia out the doors of the school as they headed to his jeep. "Stiles! Stiles! Wait up! What's the rush?" She asked him curiously with a confused chuckle as he opened the passenger door for her, quickly racing around to his own seat. "I just-I want to get home. There is something I need to tell you." He answered her vaguely as she gave him a puzzled look, stopping in the doorway of the jeep to his frustration as she pointed back towards the school with her thumb. "Oh erm well can it wait? I mean Ryan offered to give me a lift home an-" she began as Stiles quickly cut her off, growing only more annoyed at hearing the guys stupid name. "NO!" He shouted accidentally taking her by surprise, raising his hands up as he spoke, before he realised, and hastily quietened his tone. "Sorry I mean...I usually drive you home and you live there right now anyway." He struggled on what to say as she gave one last glance back at the school before hopping in reluctantly.

"Well yeah about that...Ryan says I can live with him now he's back and he can take care of me so you don't have to-" she began again as they set off and Stiles felt like screaming from the top of his lungs. He had to give it to this guy, he really had thought it all through. "Lydia please just...don't go live with him." He said it with a sigh as he drove, not wanting to meet her eyes as she furrowed her eyebrows at him. "Why?" She asked and even though he knew it was coming, he was praying she wouldn't cause he had no clue what to say. "Look just...y-you can't trust him Lydia, he's not a good guy." He explained barely saying anything as his response only made her more curious. "But i should trust you?" Her snappy comment made him instantly look in her direction as they locked eyes. It hurt him that she still didn't really trust him but he understood why. He looked away quickly, hoping she wouldn't notice his eyes starting to water as they remained silent for a moment. "Yes. You should. We're close remember? Your mind can feel that. That means that the old Lydia trusted me so I mean shouldn't you?" He knew he shouldn't really have phrased it that way and he awaited her answer worryingly just in case she got upset. But to his surprise, she didn't. "Okay...say you're right? but he's my boyfriend, why can't I trust him?" She speedily quizzed back as he sighed internally, praying they'd get home soon. He was surprised she accepted what he said that easily. "Yeah I erm...look I'll explain when we get back, I'll explain everything-I just-" he made up as he put his foot down, hoping to get there faster. This answer seemed to satisfy her as they remained quiet for the rest of the ride until they reached his house and he was relieved to find his dad not there yet. As he parked up, she finally speaks again, taking him by surprise, "are you jealous Stiles?" She asked him quietly as he instantly moves his head to look at her. "What?!" He answers her automatically as she turns more to him now they were parked. She gives him a knowing look, raising an eyebrow as he can't help but let out a little laugh. "Oh you must be joking." He chuckled humourlessly as she gave him a concerned look. "Well no, I mean...you are like my best friend right, we're really close?" She asks as he agrees. "Well yeah but-" she cuts him off this time as she gives him a more serious look. "So if we are, you might not like my boyfriend, or approve of him and he probably doesn't like you either." She concludes as he scoffs at her, not really in the mood to be having this conversation. It was stupid to him how he had to pretend to be her 'boy best friend' when in fact he was her boyfriend. But he knew he didn't really have the right to be mad about it since he put himself in all this mess. "No! It's not like that!... look...j-just I'll show you okay?" He says with finality as they finally get out and head inside the house. He calls out to his dad just in case and feels relief as he gets no answer back.
