"Why do you stay with me?" Her question threw him off as he sat up straighter in his chair, rubbing sleep from his eyes and meeting her green eyes with his own as gave her a puzzled look. "Wha-what do you mean?" He stammered slightly as he spoke and he quickly thought of things he could possibly answer her with. "Well, I mean I've been here for nearly a week now and you are the only one who visits me everyday and talks to me and stays with me. Does everyone else secretly hate me or something?" She joked lightly, but he could sense her worry behind it, as he gave her a tight smile. "N-No of course not, trust me everyone loves you." He said honestly, earning him a humourless smile. "..Erm I stay here with you...because I want to, I want to make sure you're okay..." he trailed off slightly wondering if he's said too much as she seems to squint at him. But it wasn't like it wasn't true, he wasn't lying, all he wanted was to be with her. "Hmm...we must be really good friends then? Because you seem to care about me a lot." Her answer was blunt and surprising as he raised his eyebrows at her in response. "Erm yeah, we are, we're really close...I do care about you a lot." He shuffles almost uncomfortably in his seat as he struggles a little with the conversation. Why couldn't he just say it? Why couldn't he just tell her that they were together? Well he knew why, he was scared that she'd not want him anymore since all their memories together had been erased. She was barely the same person he knew anymore. This was the old Lydia, the Lydia that never loved him, that didn't know he existed, the Lydia that never even looked at him as she passed him in the halls.

Lydia hummed lightly in response as she seemed deep in thought but didn't say much else on the matter. "Do you have a girlfriend?" She asked him suddenly, as he immediately froze on the spot. "W-Who me?!" He answers awkwardly as she laughs at him. "Erm no, I was obviously talking to the invisible man sat in the corner, yes you, you dummy!" She replies sarcastically and he can't help but smile at it. Now this seemed more like his Lydia. "I erm...well um I guess no, I don't." He lies, as she tilts her head at him slightly, almost looking like she doesn't believe him. "Hmm I'm not quite sure I believe you..." her answer surprised him as his eyes widened slightly. "Wha-what why?" He asked back hastily as he felt himself become a bit more nervous. "Well I may not remember much now but I do happen to remember seeing some particular dark hickies on your neck when I first got here." She teased with a playful smirk and a suggestive raise of her eyebrows, as he felt his stomach sink. Shit. He felt his face go a light shade of pink as he sat up in his seat more. "Oh um about that I erm..." he struggled to explain as he became a bumbling mess. Lydia laughed at him like she found his nervousness funny, "Stiles! Stiles! It's okay. I get it, you just had a fling, right? It happens you don't have to explain yourself to me. I'm not your girlfriend!" She smiled politely as he closed his mouth instantly, leaning back as he felt unsure of what to say. "Um...yeah yeah I guess so..." he lied again, mumbling under his breath, as he felt awkward for even entertaining the idea about going near another girl. "Oh I see...well despite it, I bet my boyfriend must not like you very much." She stated, now studying her nails as if she'd said something obvious, as he gave her a clueless look. "What? What makes you think that?" He asks back speedily as she raises an eyebrow at him. "Seriously? Well I mean come on, we're supposedly very close friends right? We obviously care about each other and know each other well and you have no girlfriend and its not like you're ugly is it? So he must be really jealous of you. I mean it's understandable really. He probably thinks that you're in love with me or we secretly love each other or something." She replied nonchalantly as he immediately perked up at her compliment, despite how brief it was, it was definitely a start.

Stiles lets out an awkward laugh as he tries to joke along with the situation. "Oh erm right yeah..." she looks at him carefully, a small smirk on her face at his shyness. He wondered what she thought of him, like really thought of him, he wished he knew. He could only guess, and his thoughts were often cruel on him. He missed her so much. They fell back into silence for a moment before she finally spoke again. "Scott told me that you've saved my life before." Her statement surprised him slightly as he shifted back in his chair. "Oh, yeah well you've saved mine too so I guess we're even." He joked lightly as she looked down at her hands on her lap as she seemed lost in thought. "You know I really want to remember right? I know I seem like I'm not trying sometimes I just...it's really hard to understand where my head is at right now...it feels like I'm stuck in someone else's body, in someone else's life..." her mood shifted as she seemed genuinely sad, as she finally seemed to be opening up for the first time in awhile. "No, it's okay, you don't have to apologise, I know you're trying, it'll come back to you I'm sure of it." For the time being he was actually trying to keep a positive mind, even though she still didn't really know him. Lydia gave him a sweet smile, meeting his gaze properly as she looked like she was about to say something else but Melissa entered the room quickly making them both jump slightly, like she'd interrupted something. "Hey Lydia! How are we today?" She asked brightly as usual as Lydia beamed at her. "I'm great actually, a bit sick of being stuck in this bed now, but I think i'm good." She joked as Melissa smiled happily. "Well then today's your lucky day cause you've been discharged. You're allowed to go home! The doctors have decided that it will be good for you to go back home and be in a familiar environment, it might help rejig your memory." Lydia practically lit up as she thanked her repeatedly before smiling happily at Stiles. "Oh thank goodness! No offence but I was getting a little sick of this place." Lydia laughed as Melissa agreed. "I don't blame you at all! Oh Erm Stiles can you step outside with me for a minute?"
