I immediately knew who it was from her voice.
"Hey Abby!" I said.
"This is Abby?" Jake said from behind me.
Abby threw a dirty look at Jake and I saw in the corner of my eye as he gave me a concerned look. I threw Abby the classic "'Chill out' face" and got in the car.
"We need to drive down that way and get my stuff out of the car. I also need to call a tow-truck and send it to your address." I said over her seat.

Me and Jake were sitting in the back and Abby was in the driver's seat. I sat back down and buckled in. It was quiet and me and Jake were looking the opposite way from each other. I looked at him quickly at the same time he looked at me but then looked back at the seat. I think Abby noticed the awkwardness because in the rear-view mirror she gave me a smirky "Hmmm" look. I gave her a "stop it" look back and then just decided to look out the window from then on.

It only took us about 5 minutes to drive to where my car was parked. I got out of the jeep and Jake helped me put all the boxes in the trunk.
"What was that all about?" Jake asked. "Oh, the looks Abby gave me?" "Yeah."
"I think she knows... that there's something going on between us..." I blushed.
The whole blushing thing was starting to get annoying now. "She doesn't trust you. Plus she's a lesbian so she kind of like, despises men a little." I giggled.
"Oh. Well that's understandable " he laughed a little. "She'll warm up to you." I said as we walked up to the Jeep and set a few boxes in the back. We walked up to the Lambo. "Yeah she's quite the character." he said quietly.
I saw Abby spying on us through the rear-view mirror, still with suspicious eyes. She looked down once she saw that I caught her. Jake looked over at her too and laughed quietly. We got the last two boxes out of the back and set them in the Jeep. "I'm going to call a tow-truck before someone reports my car on the side of the road." "Okay." Abby and Jake said at the same time.
He looked at her and she looked at him with a suspicious face. He quickly looked back and leaned on the side of her Jeep, trying not to meet Abby's hostile gaze again. I scoffed and rolled my eyes at her as I dialed the tow-truck. As I gave the information to the man I saw Abby reprimanding Jake for leaning on her Jeep. The guy on the other end of the phone put me on hold and I waved Abby down to stop. Poor Jake. He would have to sleep on her couch. I need to get her under control before she ends up doing something. She saw my hand signals and gave me an unapproving look and then got back in her Jeep.
"Ok thank you." I said to the tow-truck man.
I hung up the phone and walked over to the jeep. It was kind of cold. I crossed my arms and shivered. "Are you cold?" Jake asked me.
"I'm f-fine." I replied. "The tow t-truck is going to be here s-soon" why did I keep stuttering? Was I really that cold? "Here." Jake started taking off his jacket. "No, I'm fine." I said. "Jessica you're shivering." he said in a soft voice. He put the jacket around my shoulders and held me close.
"It looks good on you," "My jacket." he said.
"It does?" I laughed. "It looks big on me."
"Eh that's all right," he said. "What matters is how good the girl inside it looks." He looked down at me. I looked up at him and pulled my face closer. Abby then interrupted our moment. "Oh, lookey here! The tow truck is here!" She said in a loud, distracting voice. I looked back from her and looked at Jake before I rolled my eyes and went over to the truck.
"Are you Jessica Brown?" the man in the truck asked. "Yes sir." I said. "Ok. We're going to tow your car and drop it off at the designated area. You can go home if you need to. Oh, and I would advise that you lock your doors and make sure they're shut, I wouldn't want anything falling out because I am NOT getting out of my truck to pick it up." he laughed. "Ok, thank you." I said. I walked back to the Jeep and saw Jake smirking at me. "What?" I smiled. "Nothing." he smiled back.

We got in the backseat of the Jeep and buckled in. Abby started driving, still looking at us in the rear view mirror every minute or so. I finally got fed up with it. "Abby, just pay attention to the road." I said. She gave me a look but after that she complied and kept her eyes on the road. I slowly slipped my hand into Jakes and looked at him, we both smiled slightly and looked ahead at the road before us. Abby was quiet and me and Jake held hands the rest of the way home.
