"W-what?" I said.

My mind was fuzzy. The question he just asked made a cloud in my mind. I was so shocked. He knew. What was I going to do now? Was this going to ruin our friendship? I had only known him for 2 days so there wasn't really a friendship but still, a potential friendship??This was all going too fast. I came back to reality when he shook me. "Jessica?" he had a slightly panicked look on his face.
I shook my head and blinked twice. I realized we had stopped walking and he had both his hands on my arms. It had also started to lightly rain.
"What?" He sighed and put his hands down.
"You scared me. I thought you were having a stroke or something." he said.
"No, I'm fine." I said.
"Well are you going to answer my question?"
"What was the question?" I asked. He looked at me, embarrassed, and paused for a few seconds. He looked down at his feet.
"Do you like me?" He said quietly.
"I-" I blinked and just stared at him for a few seconds.
He was still looking down. Once he noticed my silence he looked up at me. He made an embarrassed and ashamed face.
"I knew I shouldn't have asked you that. Of course you don't. I'm so stupid." he said. He started walking the direction we were going and shaking his head, mumbling and rambling to himself. "Jake," I said when he was just barely arms length. "I do, actually." I said. My face started burning up now.
Oh god what have I done, I thought to myself. He turned around and looked at me in realization. It was starting to pour now and he just stood there, blinking the rain off his eyelashes and staring at me, he breathed kind of heavy. I just stood there staring at him, probably as red as a lobster. And then it happened. He quickly walked to me and held my face and he pressed his lips to mine. I put my hands on his neck and kissed him back. Both of our lips moving swiftly. I was on my toes, kissing him, both of us were soaked in rain once again, with cars passing by, just a few feet from us. It was noisy and shouldn't have been romantic at all, but for some reason the cars and the headlights and the rain all made it just that much more special. I pulled my face from his and looked into his eyes. They were beautiful. I had never been this close to his face before, so I didn't notice how pretty his chocolate brown eyes were. He smiled and said "What?"
"Your eyes," I replied. "They're pretty." I looked at him with a smile and a longing face. He stopped smiling and matched the face I had.
"No other beauty couldn't possibly be more than yours."
My heart raced and I smiled slightly. He likes me just as much as I like him. We kissed once again, holding each other closer this time. This chemistry I felt between us was impossible to understand, it was completely irrational. How could I be so insane to start to fall in love with this boy so quickly and so easily. And how could he be so insane to start to fall in love with me so quickly? I didn't know. All I knew was that me and him were going to be inseparable. I would stick with him for as long as I could, and based on the passion he had showed for me, I hoped that he was planning on the same thing.

After we kissed, both of us were very quiet. There was nothing really to say. Or at least both of us were too shy to say anything after that. We walked the rest of the way to the gas station. Luckily it had stopped raining by then. It took us about an hour and a half, maybe two hours to walk there. Abby was going to be there in a few hours or so. I went ahead and bought some snacks and drinks for me and Jake. I payed and then walked out the door and saw Jake sitting on the sidewalk waiting for me. I sat down next to him.
"Here." I said. I handed him a hotdog and a cup of coffee and water. "I don't know if you like coffee but I got it just in case." I looked down as he took the coffee and the hotdog
"Thanks." he said.
"Yeah." I nodded. We looked at each other for a second and then quickly looked down at the food and started eating. "Abby should be here in like, two hours or something." I said after I swallowed a bite of my hotdog. "Ok."
"She said you can sleep on the couch."
"Sounds good." he nodded.

We finished our food and just sat on the edge of the sidewalk and waited. We talked, and picked up a card game from the gas station, but eventually there was nothing to do so we just sat there bored.
All of the sudden a black Jeep swerved into the gas station and made a dramatic stop in the parking spot right next to where me and Jake were sitting. We both stood up and ran to the side in shock. The tinted window rolled down to reveal a person with black sunglasses looking at us.

"Get in, bitches." she said.

And immediately I knew who it was.
