Mortals will never comprehend what apparitions are-they are nothing more than evil spirits with sad endings-so the anguish of the typical apparition was to not even be seen by anybody from the Near Shore. Because of false reports and other things, apparitions may experience a sense of alienation from even their own kind.

Even if they go so far as to disguise themselves, they will still feel useless knowing that they have no home in the living world other than the afterlife. They don't belong walking among the living.

Apparitions, for example, cannot love.

Even just falling in love with a mortal seems sinful.

Since Y/n has already fallen in love but was unable to tell her closest friend, she is unsure if-

"Hey, your spacing out." He arched an eyebrow, and Teru said as Y/n snapped back to reality and turned to face him. "What's going on?" He asks. She shakes her head as she shrugged, "I'm sorry. I simply have a lot going on right now, but I can assure you that it won't ever again be that overwhelming."

His finger then pokes her cheek, leaving her perplexed as she furrows her brows. "Uhm...President?" She trailed off.

Despite the fact that the girl was a roving apparition from the school, he could almost feel the warmth of her cheek. This led to further questions, even though he knew full well that the girl knew all there was to know about everyone and everything.

"I can touch you. You're still warm, how is that?"

"I am able to simulate many of a regular human's physical characteristics, including heartbeat, body temperature before it becomes too cold to sustain life, and many more. Are humans not warm?" She asks as he shook his head, "No no. It is a bit unusual."

"Shall I go back to my apparition form? We are alone in the council room." She suggests, "That won't be necessary. I mean, who knows who might barge in-"

The council room door swung open almost on cue, and when Y/n stood up and came up to it, it made the doors gaze at one another. She was nearly taken aback to find her buddy standing by the door frame. "Ah. Chiyako, do you need something?"

"I have something to ask, Miyoko!" She says this as she pushes Y/n out the door, making Teru reluctant because he was caught with paperwork. Chiyako chuckled quietly as she dragged Y/n into a deserted hallway.

"Hey, can you be honest with me, Miyoko?" Chiyako holds both of Y/n's shoulders while grinning, causing Y/n to nod her head in compliance with the question. "There was a rumor that you've been becoming too close to the president, almost too close, as if your relationship with the president wasn't your standard secretary-student council president one."

"...Eh?" Y/n says bluntly. "Are you two more than just that?!" Chiyako said.

Y/n couldn't quite envisage herself in a relationship with the president because of her current state and since she secretly cared for Teru because he still has that hatred for supernaturals and that was one of the reasons that concerned her as much as most supernaturals are wicked except for those supernaturals who had to do their duty in the living world like granting wishes.

Y/n silenced her friend as she moved away, covering her ears from the loud shouts, "Me and President? No- no! I...I'm nothing more to the president but just someone who's just a mere secretary. Please don't overlook the possibilities, Chiyako..."

"Ehhh?! No way! That's not true, is it? Someone said they saw you and Teru getting a little bit too close, almost romantically at the pool!" She says as Y/n shifts her gaze.
