Hey! This book is finally getting read which... I didn't really expect I guess...

I saw one of you tag this book and myself in another book for recommendation and I want to say I appreciate it and I hear your confusion [etsukomn] over the story, so I'm writing this chapter to address your confusion, dear reader. Here you go!

In essence, Kokkuri (こっくり, 狐狗狸) or Kokkuri-san (こっくりさん) is a Meiji-era Japanese game that doubles as a sort of divination and is primarily based on Western table-turning. Kokkuri is an onomatopoeic word that corresponds to the motion of the actual kokkuri mechanism and means "to nod up and down." 

Although it resembles Ouija, it isn't as cutting-edge as the horror board game that most people are undoubtedly familiar with.

Kokkuri-san or Y/n is the former Number 2 Seat of the School Mysteries, with The Misaki Stairs subsequently claiming the post. It was filled by Y/n's banishment due to the contract she established with a student at the time, and once Hanako learned of her imprisonment, The Misaki Stairs then took the position.

As opposed to apparitions like Mitsuba, Hanako, and similar figures. They are visible to exorcists, those connected to the Far Shore, and individuals like Yashiro, however, Tsugumori and Kokkuri are notable exceptions because they are two of the few apparitions that can appear as humans and be seen by mortals if they so choose. By using the fictitious identity [Miyoko Kajiyashiki], Kokkuri can allow herself to blend into human faces.

If a person wishes to sign a contract, Kokkuri isn't too keen to accept since the master should only impose three restrictions on the two. If any of these restrictions are breached, Kokkuri will be locked away until another summoning is requested. Summoning and interacting with Kokkuri are diametrically opposed; interacting would entail her answering the human's questions, as that is Kokkuri's actual power, which is linked to her past life.

Let's now discuss Y/n's previous life. After transferring to Kamome Gakuen Academy, she quickly befriends Yugi Amane, who eventually becomes her best friend. Her classmates always viewed her as the idealized attractive smart female archetype, and she constantly makes the boys fall to their knees and drool [Seen in Chapter/s III and XI]. In spite of the fact that she has worked hard to be in that position of always performing perfectly because she is an idealist and unselfish, not every student can be as flawless, especially when they are in their own shadow.

Even though Tsugumori is a professor to her, he has maintained a close check on both of his students who usually remain behind the school, Y/n to assist around and clean up the mess and Yugi's injuries and bruises. Tsugumori and Yugi Amane are the only two who have been connecting as Y/n's only close few.

Y/n used to express her feelings for Yugi Amane, but after she was reincarnated as an apparition at Kamome Gakuen Academy, she believed it to be a harsh punishment even though she had been a good and angelic person in her previous life. This is why she is more than just troublesome to him; she is also selfless and considers others before herself.

Of course, both of her parents are aware that their daughter is so perfect, that she has made the honor roll, been recognized as the brightest student and the most gifted, and that has done it all and worked so hard that her skin has turned ghost white, making both of her parents worry more than normal, and even lightly scolding her on occasion. After one tragic evening, she was murdered by a killer before beginning her second year of high school.

He granted her another opportunity after being called by Hanako once again as a spirit watching over Teru Minamoto, an exorcist who belonged to the same ancestral clan as Kou and Tiara. If you couldn't tell, he has a strong hatred for apparitions, yet he naturally views Miyoko as one of the rare apparitions to be an exception since he is conflicted about his sentiments.

No. Naturally not. Teru is not the antagonist of this storyline, as they will be shown shortly!
