All you need is love

Today is the day I have waited years for. Today is the day I audition for x factor. Who would have known a small town girl from Ireland would be on TV that people all around the U.K would be watching. I get to perform for some of the most famous judges in the world. I had been rehearsing many songs for my audition and a song for IF I made it to the judges’ house. The song I am going to sing is “All you need is love.” By the beetles. I choose that song because every time I heard that song I just felt sparks, and like I needed to sing it and dance to it. I had chosen that song 3 years ago and decided that would be my audition song. I have been practicing ever sense.

I looked at the clock and it said four am we need to leave by six so I decided to start getting ready. I first started to curl my long blonde hair that was so long it met my elbows. Most people say it’s not that long but it’s long for me. After an hour my hair was in curls, I decided to pin my bangs back and add a bow that matched my shirt. I put on my light washed skinny jeans and put on my floral blouse. After I put on all my jewelry I put on my makeup, I don’t wear that much makeup first off I don’t have time to put it on anyway, and people say I don’t need to wear make up so why not. I put on my foundation, eyeliner, mascara, and a light peach colored eye shadow, to make my blue eyes pop.

“Kennedy are you almost done getting ready?” My mother stood came over and stood in my doorway, then put her hands on her cheeks.

“Oh Hun you look so pretty!”

“Thanks mom.”

“Are you ready for this? There is no turning back once you get there.”

I thought or a second know if I did make it through people wouldn’t treat me the same. I wouldn’t be the 16 year old that nobody knows about everybody would know who I was. I took a deep breath out knowing I have wanted to be a singer ever sense I was 3.

“Yes, I was born to do this.”

“Okay I just want to let you know no matter what I love you and will support you through the whole season if you make it.”

“Thanks mom.” I got up and gave her a hug.

After she left I went to my bathroom and brushed my teeth. Grabbed my bag and my nude stilettos. When I got downstairs my mom made me tea and pancakes. Of course my Dad sitting there reading the newspaper and drinking is tea.

“Good morning Hun are you excited or nervous for today?”

“Morning Dad well I guess I am both now that I think of it I am just scared of rejection from the judges.”

“Don’t be Kennedy you are an amazing singer you beat hundreds of people to sing at the football nationals against Spain’s football team. That’s one of the biggest games ever and you got to perform, I have never heard a crowed cheer so loud for the singer.”

“Thanks.”

After I ate breakfast it was six so it was now time to leave. God I got so nervous that I almost threw up, I am so glad I didn’t or else my mum and my dad would have made me stay home. I still can’t process it that me Kennedy Lux O’ Brian the 16 year old from Waterford, Ireland will be on TV performing for famous judges.

We had to travel to Dublin which is where the auditions are, and is also 4 hours away so this will be a long car ride. I couldn’t decide how to entertain my self so I started to choreograph a cheer and dance routine and wrote it down, then I practiced my song, then that’s when I realized I was starving.

“I am hungry!”

“That’s great Kennedy didn’t you just eat 3 pancakes.”

“Yeah, 2 hours ago.”

I managed to make my parents stop and get me Nando’s my all-time favorite restaurant, and of course I can’t go to Nandos and get peri-peri chicken. You see if you knew me I eat constantly I am always hungry and never ever do I share my food. People learn that about me very quickly. People always ask me how I eat so much and stay so skinny, the doctor just tells me it because I have a high metabolism.

I started thinking about how life would be if I did make it win the Xfactor. I wonder if I will become friends with any of them or even date any of them. The thoughts went on and on till I fell into a deep sleep. Then I felt the car come to a stop.

“Kennedy wake up where here.”

“Oh my god we really are here I have been waiting forever for this!” I started to scream like a little fan girl because I was so excited till my mom had to calm me down.

I ran to the line to wait to check in. Let’s just say that heels and running is not a good match. When I got in line I realized that It went on forever. There were so many people, to many to even think about counting. Well we were going to be here all day. My dad went to go get a lot of water for today you need to drink a lot of water so your voice doesn’t go flat. I whipped out my phone and called my best friend Paige. Paige and I met when we were three when I moved to Waterford and Paige turned out to be my neighbor and we were the same age. We instantly clicked and became best friends.

After about the third ring Paige picked up the phone.

“Kennedy?” She sounded like she had a through ache.

“Paige I am here!”

“You know it’s only about six right?”

“Oh yeah sorry, I am just so excited.”

After a lot of fan girl moments talking about how I get to perform in front of Katy Perry, Simon, Louis, and Danni. She had to go, it made me sad that she would not be here to experience this moment with me. It has been my dream for so long, she has always wanted to be a dancer. We planed that when I became a singer she could be my background dancer. A lot of people were practicing their song, so I decided too also. My dad came back with about seven water bottles and three lemons. Some people say it is really good for your voice to eat lemons before you perform. My mum wanted to make sure I did everything right so she made me practice again.

“All you need is love, love, love and that’s all you need.”

After I hit the last note people waiting in line started to clap. When I got back in line a blonde boy with a guitar came up to me.

“Wow that was amazing, how long have you been singing?”

“Thank you and ever scene I could talk I guess?”

“No problem. I am Niall by the way.”

So many things were racing through my head. He was just so perfect, his eyes lit up, his smile was perfect. A thousand butterflies were fluttering in my stomach, I have never gotten this feeling ever. Well Niall I think we will know each other for a long, long time.

“Hi I’m Kennedy.”
